I got the ferry to Dublin back in early August, and took a wrong turn out of the port, ending up on the M50. The M50 is the only motorway in Ireland with camera tolls, and you get till 8PM the next day to find somewhere to pay. I was in the middle of nowhere, in Kerry, on the next day, but did eventually manage to find a small supermarket where I paid €3.50 at 11AM.
Fast forward 3 months, to November 2nd. I got a letter from 'EPC PLC' who represent eflow in the UK, demanding £8.54, by October 17th. I managed to find the payment receipt (I saw it coming!), eventually, and scanned it, and filled in EPC's web form. I also attached an invoice for £70.83 for my time.
A couple of days later I got another demand, which had now increased to £50.78. Today I had an email telling me that they had cancelled the case, but things would have been a lot more complicated if I hadn't kept the receipt.
I gave them until 2nd December to pay my invoice before taking it to a county court... let's see how that goes
