Just had a couple of nights locally as we can't get away now until August. Can thoroughly recommend South Thorness Farm, Thorness Bay, a C&MC site. The owner is very accommodating and understands mohomers might just want short stays or nightstops. It's worth having a chat with him if you're touring the island rather than staying put in one area because once the hay is in from one of his fields he can offer nightstops. The local club use this field for rallies so there's water and waste disposal. It's a nice part of the island with plenty of walking and cycling. The site is opposite a big holiday park where you can get groceries, 'chips and there's a bar. You get to the beach through the holiday park, it's an SSI so not a bucket and spade type but more rugged
