The side door step on my 2014 Autocruise Rhythm is only operating intermittently. Some times it works reliably, at others it fails completely. I've waggled all the connectors I can find and squirted contact cleaner into them, checked voltages on the switch and I can find nothing.

Given that the wiring all emerges from the mythical "PSU C460" according to the wiring diagram in the handbook, and that the step auto-retracts if you start the engine with the step out, I'm wondering if there is a problem in the C460. Two questions:

1. Where is it, physically
2. Does anybody have any info on it?

Gareth

More likely the step needs a little lubricating.

There prone to dirt and debris, every now and then give it a brush and spray a bit of lubricant.

If it is the same as my 2015 model Rhythm the PSU460 is under the right hand lounge seat , its the unit with the fuses and power/ charger buttons etc It may be that the plug in junction P5 on the rear of the unit needs pushing in
The Sargent electrical website has a manual you can download for these units.
I also think lubrication of the pivots etc connected to the motor that are under the step may help

Thanks to all. The steps have been lubricated before, but I will take another look.
Geoff, so that’s the PSU460 under the seat :)

Yes, its easy to lift the EC460 (marked EC400) up, carefully, to check the plugs on the back are fully pushed in. (with the mains hook up disconnected)
The Sargent website also has clearer wiring diagrams for these vans on their website which may help.
