Completely new motorhomer
Not the layout. The decor and homeliness factor.

What have you done to decorate the inside of your motorhomes and make it more homely?
Mine is very beige inside.

I have bought some throws to cover the seats (although these are plain coloured, it does cover up the interesting patterned fabric). I have also just ordered some bright cushion covers.

I am thinking of buying some of those stickers that look like tiles to stick in the kitchen area, so it looks a bit more colourful.

Contemplating taking the curtains down and dyeing them, although not sure about that as it could go quite wrong!

I am avoiding rugs, as I have dogs, so prefer the hard floor as it's easier to sweep

This is interesting…..
For me the deciding factor is age (the Motorhome, not me)
As our MH gets older, I think we are going to get bolder in the changes we make
Some of the newer models are so eye wateringly expensive that any non-spec change is immediately ruled out.
So, to start, dogs paws on the outside…. A revamp of the dinette/seating area…. Fluffy seat covers…. My partner is 1/2 Scot so perhaps a bit of tartan might appear?

That’s a really good point about age. You wouldn’t want to change anything drastic on something new. Mine is new to me, but 7 years old now. I don’t need to do anything drastic, it’s all immaculate, hence going with throws and bright scatter cushions, as it just looks so bland and like a show motorhome if that makes sense. Although an equal factor is protecting the original upholstery from the hairy beasts! I have also just bought ruff n tumble dry robes for them both, not decor, but will definitely save my interior if they get wet!

In our homes, we add plants, and artwork, but you can’t really do that in a motorhome… you don’t want anything heavy, and you don’t want anything that will fall over or roll around all over the place. Hence why I wondered about tile stickers as a kitchen backsplash

It’s whatever works for you, your lifestyle and preferences. You grow into your MH and it grows into you.
We have a dog too so are used to fluff, grit, mud and so on and we spend weeks on the road.
Its all part of the motorhoming experience - enjoy

We do have rugs, because of the dogs. They are noodle mats, the dogs like to lie on them, the worst of the muck and hairs shakes off and when we get home bung them in the washing machine (the mats that is).
They are on top of the fitted carpet but cover practically all of the floor area.

We have hard floors in our MH but buy the cheap carpet runners and squares from Dunelm. We no longer have a dag but do have small grandchildren. The carpets are so cheap that when they get too tatty we use them as over winter and fallow ground weed control fabric and / or compost heap heat retention mats before they get finally discarded.

Otherwise we have IKEA fleeces (cheap and easy to change when I get bored with the colour) and I also knit and crochet so we are never short of bright coloured blankets and cushions.

The front seats have dark brown sheepskins over them although the colour on those is starting to silver.

We’ve got both, tiles at home, carpets in the MH.
Not sure which is best, mutt-fluff gets everywhere.
Oh, and every site owner/organiser seems to cut the grass a few days before we arrive so we always get back home with something resembling a compost heap.
Happy days

Oh gosh, with this drought and heatwave, my house is constantly full of dead grass that they bring in from what used to be the garden 😂

I’d often thought about tarting up the interior. We’ve got throws and covers over the sofas and fluffy throw blankets over the drivers and passengers seats (I wanted sheepskin rugs, but these are better) and extra cushions etc, which all add to the homely feel of our vans.

I‘ve also stripped out the fitted mirror in the bathroom, removed the sink and added mosaic splash back ceramic tiles to the corner hand basin area, which looks really nice. I then replaced the mirror with a framed antique one I found in a charity shop and, once the sink was in and the grouting done, looks really nice. I then found 4 small paintings that had matching frames and popped them on the wall opposite the mirror and it just made the whole bathroom more homely.

I then added the same tiles as a splash back to the main kitchen sink and again, once grouted, looks great. That was nearly 10 years ago and they still look like I put them up yesterday. I’ve toyed with the idea of painting the bathroom walls white, but have resisted that urge so far, in case I mess it up, or the paint makes the paper on the wall boards lift of something.

One thing I’ll never do, is paint over the beautiful wood I have inside. The time and effort that must have gone into the steaming and curving of the panels for the cupboards, means I like to keep them showing the lovely grain. It also makes my sister jealous cos her majestic is mostly cheap chipboard or another, that wobbles when you open any doors, and she always comments on the wood.

Don't forget you can always have the interior soft furnishings recovered to suit if you wanted too.

Send pictures as you go along, we Funsters like a picture and most A Class owners can’t read, so pictures work for them 🤭😇

Wouldn't let a dog anywhere near the inside of our moho, just a couple of throws and extra cushions that just get in the way most of the time.

Solid wood sounds great! Indeed, your motorhome sounds lovely too, proper tiles!

Mine is full of the cheap laminated stuff sadly, but that's ok, they won't effect the adventures I have 😂

That's a good idea to get some pictures. I might get some of mine printed of my travels and I am sure I can attach something lightweight to the walls without damaging anything

I found these very light frames in ikea, stuck on with comand strips and filled with
places we have visited.
