I know it’s a topic that has been covered many times......but, yes, am lucky to have a Niesmann and Bischoff Flair, but I can only find one insurance company to insure us, due to the value of the vehicle, and that is Comfort. I’ve tried Saga, Safeguard and Staveley Head.

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks

Have you tried the 2 main clubs camping & caravan club and the caravan club if your a member

A.I.B are phoning me back with a quote......, the caravan club weren’t interested....the vehicle was to expensive to underwrite.

I agree with @Lenny HB try NFU, they think high value starts at the price of a new harvester. Not all NFU offices are as keen on discussing motorhome insurance as others, they are individually franchised. I found Christian Brown at their Brockenhurst office very helpful 01590 624744.

I used to use NFU at Louth - very experienced on MH insurance. Only changed for better Continental periods.

I would also go onto Niesmann&Bischoff Owners Club UK

Also very useful for technical questions. Very friendly and no agro.

We have an Arto69GL (2003)

Try Safeguard or Shield, both have given us good service in our admittedly cheaper van.

Christian was on holiday, spoke to Gary, very helpful, after 30 mins on the phone his computer said ‘contact an underwriter ‘ so fingers crossed. But he wasn’t able to quote for breakdown cover....

Also NFU has no limit on windscreen cover

I had to get the breakdown cover separately but the combined cost still worked out cheaper than my previous insurance, which included it. The motorhome contents cover is limited too but I have a very comprehensive house contents insurance that covers everything I need.

We found NFU in Chichester really helpful and got cover for a high value vehicle with no problems. From what I've heard the various branches of NFU differ in what they will cover. They didn't offer breakdown cover though so we got cover from AA Arrival through the Caravan and Camping Club. We went with them as there wasn't a problem with the size/weight and there were no time restrictions (some were limited to 90 days cover).

I havent bought breakdown cover for 20 years. In that time I have had one breakdown - in Morocco as it happens, just paid for it, I reckon I'm still In ( I'm asking for trouble posting it perhaps). It never ceases to amaze me how people have a breakdown in a Fiat/Iveco/Mercedes and have it recovered back to UK for repair Oh Please!!!
