Burstner lyseo time
How much before your renewal time can you expect to get a quote from your insurance provider ,my renewal is due in two months and with all the negative stories I’m dreading its arrival. Is it normally around four weeks or more/less ,I’m with Comfort and in the middle of a windscreen claim.

3 to 4 weeks your renewal quote should come through.

Expect a rise, I’ve been with comfort for the last 4 years and every year it goes up by at LEAST £80 no claims or convictions🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I can live with that ,it’s the doubling of the premium I’m worried about 😱

Have you tried other companies ?

Yes some won’t even cover me, or rather the van (caravan guard, safeguard, LV etc) others don’t inc breakdown (NFU etc)🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I was with Comfort for a number of years but when they raised my premium I voted with my feet, now with NFU and have/had breakdown cover with LV.

Think they all differ in their top value.
I was with LV (don't know who their underwriter was/is) for years with Bertie, until one year they said the value of my car now exceeds their max limit so they could no longer insure me/Bertie. On checking it was £100k

My car renewed in the Autumn with a significant price hike - much like everyone else. The comfort policy for our van renewed around the same time with a raise, but nothing on the scale of our car policy.. BTW. We have no claims or points etc just careful drivers and lucky road users!
I called comfort about a month before the renewal date, but they would not quote me then, saying I should wait until my renewal invitation was issued.

21-23 days before is the sweet spot. You can get an idea of the cost now by just saying on comparisons sites that your insurance is due in a month's time (max quote length) but obviously not take it out.

Once you've found out which insurer is the best you can then check with Quido/TopCashBack to see if there's any cashback on offer too.

If it doesnt help ours went up about 50% (of the actual insurance)

I’m through CAMC (policy with Axa). The renewal quote came through 21 days before policy expiry. I was pleasantly surprised at a 6% increase.

Yep - he reckons 28 days before expiry is the best date for the cheapest prices.
He used to recommend 6wks.
I wonder what's changed? 🤔

I never allow auto-renew for anything so phoned my car insurer (LTSB) three weeks before due date. They said that they couldn't do it at that time but a renewal offer would automatically be emailed to me two weeks before it was due. I obtained other quotes but as it happened all were dearer when my renewal offer arrived even though it was 35% up on the previous premium.

Mine went up about £80 with NFU so happy with that, mind you have no choice as nobody else would even quote me😳😳

My CAMC insurance renewal just came through today. Last year was £253.17 next year is £291.57. (no roadside assistance) I have that through Nationwide bank.
As yet I haven’t compared with the competitors but it doesn’t look too bad.

For some reason ours has come down by about £30 ????

Just changed our policy as the renewal was late coming through and had to chase that through anyways.
Well known company likes to phone you not online quotes, last year £317 inc breakdown and europ cover, this year £767.
Person on phone gave a load of speall about its in line with last years etc, we did change vans but the increase equated to about £8 a month so about £416 for a year, had already priced around so went elsewhere for £480 still up on last years but not as bad as £767.

I was told recently after I DIDN'T get a renewal price 28 days before 'the date' that statuterally they have to provide it 21 days in advance.
I got some quotes at about 23 days prior but no one managed to beat my extant Co. which surprisingly was CCC.

the anticipation is soooo exciting ☹️will I have to sell another kidney 🤔(not mine ,volunteers?)😄

No kidneys were harmed in the obtaining of my latest insurance.
HOWEVER!!! It did cost me an arm and a leg but, thanks to Viagra, I am still able to type this message.
