Insurance after 80

I see from my berth date that I will be reaching 80 shortly (time flies so quickly these days!)
I have been covered by Lloyd’s health travel insurance but that ends when I reach 80.

QUESTION what do others do about travel insurance?

Did I read somewhere that Nationwide cover the over 80s

I'm 2 years behind you, but likewise, am wondering what happens after you pass the big 8-0!

I’ve just turned 70 and nationwide sent me a letter saying it will be £65 extra. Not sure if there’s another extra at 80.

I'm in the same boat, as you we are with LLoyds. If you do manage to find someone please drop me a PM, I'll guarnentee one thing , it will not be cheap

The CAMC and probably CCC cover over 80s but as Portland said above won't be cheap.

We've both pre-existing complaints, so now use Eurotunnel travel insurance. Maybe not the cheapest, but simple and in theory reliable.

I've looked at that a number of times, cos it does seem very reasonably priced and the only health question upfront appears to be whether your own doctor(s) has advised you not to travel. Both of us do have pre-existing conditions; however neither of us has ever been advised not to travel by a GP nor a consultant. However, I have always wondered whether that puts the onus on us, to specifically ask our docs whether we should every time we wish to travel and if they ask when you need to claim and could therefore quite legally avoid it, because we haven't asked.

Eurotunnel annual multitrip is only available to under 70s for a maximum of 31 days each trip.

If you are over 70 or want longer than 31 days you need to get individual trip insurance but no idea of the cost as we use the multi trip one and only go for 30 days.
