Anyone know where I can take a turn signal feed from to trigger right/left camera feedsfor the 360 degree system I'm fitting?

I haven't opened the indicator fitting yet - but presume a feed to the indicator bulb will be intermittent and thus not much use?

I'm installing the box close to the fusebox under the steering wheel, so something here would be ideal.

Thanks in advance.

Don't they go through the "Body Control Unit" now, a bit like the ECU, but for auxiliaries ? Another layer of complication perhaps, but needed for Canbus to do it's stuff ?

Timer relay triggered by first flash from indicator and stays on say for 30 seconds supplying camera
if camera goes out next flash should switch it back on, sounds right you just got to find the gear and make it work

Any additional load on any of the electrical vehicle circuits will probably throw up an alarm on the canbus system, unless whatever you're fitting has built in compatability.

right hand foot well side panel. So to the right of drivers leg in right hand drive. Well it is in the x250 and doubt it has changed

Thanks.

It hasn't done so far - and I've taken feeds for the 360 camera system, other peripheral cameras, as well as the air-assist compressor. Canbus I've never really got into - seems complex. Will need to get to understand it soon as I'm planning to add the steering wheel media controls at some point.

Thanks - I've accessed there for a number of things but I don't know which colour wires are the indicator feeds and would be a steady signal not flashing. I've got the Fiat workshop manual installed on SWMBO's laptop but access requires a permission signed off by all four great-grandparents and the UN Secretary General... so I was hoping a quick post on here and someone would have already done it...

Now that's a good idea if a simpler answer isn't forthcoming.

The wiring in the kick panel is the start of the rear light loom. All you need to watch out for is drawing too much current and triggering the bulb failure protection. One method you could use is a bypass relay, as used for towing electrics. The tiny current that takes is fine. The relay has it's own power so the output would be fine to trigger a camera control circuit, although it will flash on and off, so the circuit will need to latch until the signal is removed

Presumably there is a wire between the indicator stalk and the flasher relay that would be a constant signal when activated by the switch?

Or am I relying too much on my knowledge of my 1983 tractor?!! Perhaps flasher relays are a thing of the past and it's all done in the ECU somewhere these days...

...as I'm planning to add the steering wheel media controls at some point.

I'm interested in this as I want to replace my hard plastic steering wheel with a Fiat OEM padded version and even without media controls the canbus might be an issue for the airbag.
