Why do I have an inverter, if the sockets are there?

I'm guessing they may not work with EHU, but haven't tried it yet.

You need to explain in a bit more detail.

Normally the sockets in the van will only work when on EHU, the inverter is for when you need 240v but dot not have an EHU, the inverter will be of limited power so you can't just plug anything in the rating is usually on the inverter case in watts.

I doubt if the inverter is feeding all the sockets,mine only feeds 1 and it is used to provide 240v when travelling or not on EHU.We use it for laptop or charging phones etc.

Sorry. I have a separate built in inverter that is clearly an addition.

I just wondered whether, given that I have a solar panel, that perhaps the plug sockets may run off the leisure batteries.

I'm guessing not - and it makes sense that the inverter is the back up to EHU for emergencies or similar.

Just un plug the EHU
Turn on the inverter and see which sockets work
On mine all the sockets are connected to the inverter
