At first I thought I was seeing things but no...

He has lit an outside BBQ!

Flames, smoke, the whole nine yards.

I wandered over and suggested this was very, very dangerous and it was definitely not allowed.

No problem he says, when we have cooked we put it out.

I am really, really cross and want to call someone but, instead, I have just driven well away from the idiots and have now parked up across the dam.

I am not allowed to use mowers or strimmers at QMJ in case a spark sets off a fire and here he is, with his plump, top less, elderly wife sitting around a fire... and there is a breeze blowing...

Beggars belief!

Watched a blog of vanlifers today , in Portugal , with pics of french motorhomer emptying cassette on a clifftop ,and you see why regs are being tightened up on Motorhomes parking .

Well done . You have now removed yourself from a potentially dangerous situation.
You can’t educate people like this and to remove yourself from the area was the best and only way . I wish I could be as sensible as you sometimes .

Someone in Javea called the local police because they were lighting fireworks €750 fine he was English not that it made any difference, obviously these idiots have never seen how fast fire spreads.

We stayed with some caravanning friends on a CS in Dorset a couple of weeks ago and there was a rally field adjacent to the CS that bordered onto open heathland and where a rally was held just before we arrived (but while our friends were there. Someone had a barbecue near to the fence and managed to set fire to several hectares of heathland and three caravans. 6 fire engines and several hours later and it was out. Goodness knows how much damage would have been caused if it had been during the heatwave this week.
