LHD Hymer exsis-i
2013 LHD German import Hymer exsis-i 562 on Transit 350 chassis, daylight running lights include rear lights.
My Waeco single lens reversing camera has stopped working. The monitor shows either C1 or C2 on the screen, and if on C2 this will automatically change to C1 if the camper is put into reverse with ignition on, but no image on the screen at all. The only thing I've done is to temporarily remove the camera from it's mount, but there's plenty of slack in the cable so no stress was placed on it. I've also noticed my UK offside reversing light isn't working.
First thoughts are loss of power to the camera, does anyone know where the power feed would be taken from? Normally I can manually switch the camera on whilst driving.

The power feed is more than likely, the same cable that takes your video feed back to the monitor.
There will be a plug where your camera cable & the monitor cable meet.

I'd be putting my meter on the reversing lamp first to see if there's 12v back there. If not, then looking at a fuse before a process of elimination.

In spite of me saying there was plenty of slack in the cable, the problem was the multi pin connection between the cable run and the monitor. When it was switching between C1 and C2 with no picture there must have been a partial connection, as soon as I started fiddling with it it stopped completely. After best part of a day accessing the cable all is now fine. It had been wrapped in insulated tape I presume to hold it together, (finest example of Hymer German engineering,) but I’m going to try to wire them together.

We had a similar experience with ours. It worked fine when we bought it (new to us a few months ago) Then it stopped automatically changing when selecting reverse. Then intermittently it wouldnt show C2 (reversing view) at all. It became a pain not knowing if it was going to work. Process of elimination I found the issue to be the connection at the dash end. Found the connector under the display bound in tape. If I wiggled it it all worked incl auto reverse (until I drove over a pothole that is.) Stripped it down and found the reverse gear feed pin was broken off and had been replaced by a piece of thin wire. This must have moved and I am guessing it would intermittent touch the C2 pin and stop that displaying. Removed the wire and put it back together so at least I gave C2 on the switch. I couldnt find a pin out diagram as I thought I might replace the connectors and hard wire them. Have left it as is at the moment.
