Can anyone else with the same motohome as us help please? We have a 2020 Hymer MLT580, all is lovely except we cannot work out what this sprung rocker switch does. It's not referred to in the Hymer or Mercedes manuals. You have to keep your finger on it otherwise the spring means it goes back to its normal position. It's not for the step. It is below the instrument screen, just above the remote key point and to the left of the cigarette lighter socket. Could it be something to do with the aftermarket tracker or alarm? I give up after a few months of ownership!

If you have a Vanbitz alarm it is the switch for the trailing lead bicycle alarm at the rear.

No we don't have that system and it's a momentary on switch so it turns off again as soon as you take your finger off it. Thanks for replying though.

Of no help at all but on our 2009 Pilote we have a similar button by the passenger door.....king annoying!!

Thanks to someone in the Hymer Facebook group for advising me he doesn't have this switch on his 580. This made me think it must be an aftermarket addition. I have spent this wet and rainy sunday afternoon reading through both security system manuals on the van. The vehicle has an Autowatch 695 alarm and the manual refers to a hidden button that is used to put the system in to "service mode" which deactivates auto arming. I bet this is the special hidden button!
