Started to a bit as the French have dropped Google for QWANT for security reasons. However I'm sure it won't have the same footprint as Google has.

Just recently changed to this as not keen to be screwed over by Google.

Yes using duckduck for over six months within epiphany web browser on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
It's not too bad - usually only one add at top of list. Still very US biased.
So good not having to update windows and AV any more. No Anti Virus needed !
All software and os is free - even full 3D-CAD !

Yes, I've used it for years because it doesn't track (allegedly), unlike Google. The US bias that others have mentioned can be avoided by adding "uk" in the search box (at least for most of the stuff I use it for).
