Our Garman dash cam/satnav will not stay on the windscreen . Which we have to attach with a rubber round sticker thing then click a small lever. I think a lot of it is the very hot weather how do you manage?

What sort of base vehicle have you got ?

Depends on the van.

With one we had, it was fitted with a totally useless rear view mirror (but no rear windows)
The Sat Nav fitted perfectly on the mirror held in place with rubber bands made out of slices of cycle inner tubes

Many thanks I think brodit May be useful . One answer came up on utube was to soak the rubber sticker in boiling water for about 30 - 50 seconds with makes the rubber more pliable and Should stay on longer.

I complained to Garmin about their sucker and they sent me a new one.

The best sat nav I owned was one that had a two dimensional black and white display. The Golf has a sat nav system but a black and white Navigation display Is also shown on the dash and that display is good enough for navigation really don’t know why more vehicles do not do this.

Are you wetting the rubber sucker and avoiding any shaded areas on the glass. It won't stick to any black dotted areas. .
Mine stays on for weeks before it hits the deck.

We got a clamshell CD case (1 x CD Clear Clam Shell Storage Cases for 1 Disc - C-Shell By Dragon Trading® Amazon product ASIN B01FG8UX2K) , split it along the hinge. The flat end then tucks under the clip - ie you need a Ducato or similar. The sucker attaches to the body of the clamshell. Works for us.

We call them 'vinnie bones' used before the bungy strap had been invented for many things

Course the problem is that it is a combination satnav and dashcam if it was just the sat nav it would be easy. Last night I put the rubber sucker in boiling water for about one minute dried it off and stuck it on the windscreen, now been in direct sun for most of the morning and is still there. Thanks for all your help .

I stick all my bits and bobs on an old number plate and clip it under the clip in the middle of the dashboard I have a Peugeot
Then when I park up easy to remove it I put it in the passenger footwell

My sat nav or camera would occasionally fall off due to heat. I gave up in the end ,cleaned with acetone both screen & sucker, & superglued each one one. no probs usually for over a year. Then if it comes off do it again.
