As above got a telephone requote. Yes tracker, Yes over 70k, 2000 miles/year, kept at home (in rear garden behind locked and alarmed gates. I'll try NFU which is also well rated on this site and then it's back to CAMC to see what my renewal is with them.Hi Folkranger
I would ask for a re-quote, its got to be wrong, that's the sort of premiums that van lifers are asked to pay.
Did they ask about security devices, also an active Tracker if valued at over 70K?
Predicted annual mileage?, We dropped ours since Covid to a more realistic figure.
Where its parked is quite important with Comfort, has that changed since last renewal?
Hope you get it sorted.

LV= insure our 2018 Hymer B678DL fully comp with UK &EU breakdown and full windscreen replacement less excess of course £331.04Just been on to comfort to see if there is a mistake but there was not. She assumed it was due to a combination of the vehicle value, my age and my postcode. Obviously the North East is a more dangerous place to drive and own a vehicle than the South East. Very strange. They also don't do no claims bonuses, only use driving record. Obviously over a hundred years without claims between us two isn't good enough for them.
Will do. We're both on LV for our carsLV= insure our 2018 Hymer B678DL fully comp with UK &EU breakdown and full windscreen replacement less excess of course £331.04that’s down from £441 last year
Give them a try?![]()
Thanks Speve. Would not have thought about LV for motorhome cover but I've got it now with LV for £245 with an option of £53 for UK/EU breakdown which I'm looking into. As both our cars are with LV I've got a discount for multicover.LV= insure our 2018 Hymer B678DL fully comp with UK &EU breakdown and full windscreen replacement less excess of course £331.04that’s down from £441 last year

Same here, I stay with them as they will insure me to drive another vehicle 3rd party. With comfort , mine gone up £5
You are most welcome we have most of our insurance with them now car, travel & home and they are very reasonable and easy to deal with? Worth a lot in my viewSpoke to CAMC they don't usually give renewals until about 16 days beforehand which would be 3 days before my ferry crossing.

Only thing is, he didn't ask the motorhome type or value, just 2.3 fiat. Also didn't ask about security or tracker. It's funny how some factors mean everything to one company and another firm is not interested. You are most welcome we have most of our insurance with them now car, travel & home and they are very reasonable and easy to deal with? I think that was Safeguard.Didn't Comfort have a change of underwriter in the last year? I wonder if that's why the quotes are so silly now.
Wonder why they quoted me £1083 for a similar, less expensive van doing a quarter your miles and in NE not SE. I only can assume you are 30 years younger than me.Our Comfort insurance went up a huge amount this year £2.09
£394 for 8000 miles plus £65 for breakdown cover.
A mere 72.Wonder why they quoted me £1083 for a similar, less expensive van doing a quarter your miles and in NE not SE. I only can assume you are 30 years younger than me.
I'll have to knock 5 11/12 years off my age then.A mere 72.
Mine insured value is £74,500, I didn't want to fit a tracker & it's more than I paid for it new.
I had a quote from them in May, which I accepted. Cheapest of all the companies I tried. What to make of it all?Didn't Comfort have a change of underwriter in the last year? I wonder if that's why the quotes are so silly now.
