Ok, so I've got a portable power pack like this:

Amazon product ASIN B08RNT5BDT
I was wondering - if I was on a campsite with a hook-up what would I need to use the hook-up point to recharge?

I'm presuming some sort of hook-up to 3 pin plug cable - but I'm not sure if this is possible or if the watts/amps/volts are compatible - I failed physics and the electrics totally confuses me!

Doesn’t your Motorhome have a EHU hookup?
I assume it does.
I’d connect up the EHU as normal then charge that power bank on one of the motorhome’s mains sockets.
The CAMC allows BEV cars to be recharged only via this means ^^^^ not direct from the EHU bollard.

One campsite has 2 dedicated charging stations for EVs but that is all the Club can offer at present.

If there is a scenario where you need to tie up the EHU outlet just for the power bank, there are convertors.
Edit: like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caravan-...d=link&campid=5338547443&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

At the moment my van does mot have EHU hookup, hence the question - if I took a power bank with me I can use that, but can I also recharge if if I am on a site that offers that.

I've got the Power Oak for doing some "off grid" camping and you can charge it with your cigarette lighter to approximately 50% from that. I've not actually tried it though, as I do a night away, then a night at a site (emptying toilet, etc) when I can plug into a 3 pin socket and fully charge it.

They are great bits of kit and rather that run my TV, etc, off the leisure battery, I plug it into the Power Oak along with the Firestick and charge the mobile phone too.

If you go out during the day driving in your van could you run a thicker cable from the battery to a cigarette lighter and charge from that ?

Any of the solutions described so far seem OK. If you intend to fit an EHU inlet to your van in the future, you could go for a standard hookup cable (blue socket to blue plug), then fit a short blue plug to 13A socket on the end. I use this with a mains tester to check the connection, cable etc.

A 13A plug is quite safe on this 16A supply. In your house it is on a 32A ring main supply so there's no problem. The only thing to watch is to keep the 13A section dry -the blue plugs are weatherproof but the 13A ones aren't.

I did wonder if you were without EHU
Hence the eBay link to a listing of a 6amp EHU post to 3 pin 3pin sockets lead 👍😆

Good link but with a cable that short you better hope it’s not raining while the Jackory is hanging from the bollard 😂
