Both hob rings we’re working fine last time we used it but now one has packed in. Has anyone ever unscrewed one to clean it?
Any advice appreciated.

Unscrew and hoover it out Or blow it, It’s properly a very small bit of dust etc. The jets are very small. (y)

Ours never sparked actually or certainly doesn’t now.

We didn’t bring the tiny Phillips but I guess we can buy one in Bricolage

It’s a Dometic by the way.

if you have bo gas its the jet,if you have it a light and it gaoes out t.c lead,

Has milk or anything boiled over on the if so often blocks the burner or the jet. I made the mistake of cleaning in mine with an aerosol oven cleaner I had to strip all 3 down and clean then out.

2 small self tapper screws hold the plate on top of the burner on, undo those then you can take the burner off and clean it and remove the jet if needed. Don't poke anything in the jet.

We’ll try that.

Ours got blocked just by spilling water over it. As others have said just took the top off and dried it out

One of our hob rings doesn’t work well occasionally , when this happens I remove the plate and it’s got rust under it (only happens on one of three)
also check before buying a screw driver bit as mine a Torq screws.

That is a good picture Manic, OP, if you check out Manic's picture, the lower section is important, there you will see around the bottom it looks like a stud, well that is the ignition or sparker. Check your's out, does the ceramic look damaged, the ceramic is the white section, this is the insulator. If it is cracked or had dirt in a crack it needs to be replaced. Or to check if it is functioning, place the cap etc back on, operate the control knob by pressing down and look at this part to see if there is a spark from the to the main body. If there is that side is fine. Next, open you habitation door to allow air flow, turn on your gas and check if you can smell the gas, if you can that side is okay, close the control to shut off the gas, and leave the door open to allow the gas to evaporate out. Keep all testing to a short period so no gas is allowed to build up, and ventilation is key here.

If unsure, call a GaseSafe engineer, ask them if they will check out your hob and tell them its location.
