Began with the purchase of our first, ever MH in 2014
Will be working and hopefully explore a little of the area whilst we are there but there is nothing like 'local knowledge', especially from you lot on here
I am working at St. John's, Enderby, Leics. hope to spend time visiting the newly, planted (where I have bought a tree for my lovely sister) at the Jubilee Park and the surrounding area............ is/are there any places where we can park up, short term. Have looked at 'britstops' but couldn't 'get to grips with the maps', so assume there is nothing available ? (over to you, Britstops'. Help !). :wondering::wondering:

For me, anything is 'oop north !'

Britstop 511 is the only one fairly close. Waterloo Farm at Market Harborough is quite a nice site not too far away or if you want to venture a bit further afield Rutland Water is well worth some time

EDIT: The Britstop is about 20 mins from J21 of the M1

Yes, but that's 'Darn Sarff'..........:)

Yer not oop norf lad, in fact yer only in mildly high sarf.

Right you two, this isn't helping............... I know I'm a 'softie Southerner', but we still get to travel, at times where the air maybe slightly less ( up there):eek:

Call into a pub with a big car park near where you want to be, ask if you have drinks/meal can you stop on their carpark overnight.(y)

Worked for me for two weeks in Cornishwall-land a few years ago.

Only got refused once....AFTER we ate and drank our fill.
just got complacent and never asked first.

Thank you all. Have e-mailed waterloo Farm for distance, etc (cheers Hagnap)

About 30 - 35 mins depending on time of day (y) Other than the Britstop I mentioned earlier I don't think there's anything - site/CL/pub stop - closer.

P.J. only hope the refusal didn't sway you and the weather was welcoming

N.N. Thank you. A shame for us as even tho' I work 'oop north' on a regular basis I have never taken the van. This trip is a possibility to explore the area, a little.......... ?????????????????

Leicestershire isn't great for anything for places to stay. I would go a bit further afield. Rutland and Warwickshire have a lot more options.

I think you need to be careful going up North.

Lots of thieves and beggars up there and I am not sure if they have proper sanitation.

Bring plenty of anti bacterial wipes etc(y)

I have been led to believe that 'you lot up there' are the 'd---s b------s' and actually talk to people !! :*:*

HOW DARE YOU SIR!! I will have you know that OUR AIR is pure, untainted by jellied eels, or over inflated house prices, or even the smelly seat of government! My seconds will call on your seconds, and we shall settle this matter on the field of satisfaction! (Just Sarf of Birmingham). (y)

Yes they talk and are friendly, but you can't understand what they are saying.

Just nod, they are probably talking about soccer or rugby league, or the SNP.:D

Would Holly Farm, Ashby Magna be of any use? There is Whetstone too, but its a C&CC CS, and I dunno if you are a member.

Ashby Magna is a bit further out of Leicester than Whetstone, tell me - is the Next HQ still at Enderby? They used to have a factory shop years ago, wonder if they still have?

Bosworth water park is less than half hour from Enderby. Lots to do around Market Bosworth especially if you re into history.. we just buried King Richard !! The Battlefield line steam railway has a miniature traction engine rally this weekend. Bradgate park worth a visit too.
