Problem with my control panel above the door ,van has been stood for couple of months and had to jump start it and was going to take it for a spin but when I checked the control panel it's not switching on nothing , where it should light up and power the lights/toilet/water etc it's not working ,what it is doing there is a faint light continuous and it is bleeping .
I had suspicions I needed to replace the leisure batteries (2) so I'm hoping this is the problem or could it be something has caused damage somewhere when jump started Thanks for any comments

Check the battery voltage with a multimeter if they are down at 11v they are flat & if left in that state probably had it.

If you've had it plugged into the mains check the 240v charger is working , mine looked like it was working but wasn't

Unable to plug into mains as it's in storage but the light comes on when cabinet is opened to ecu unit
I have checked all visible fuses and all ok Thanks

What control panel is it? If Nord Electronica 183 or similar, the panel may need resetting - on my van there is big fuse by the leisure battery that can be disconnected and this resets the panel or you remove the panel and unplug the power you can reset it that way. Has happened to me a couple of times.

Before you spend money on new Hab. batteries I will tell of actual circs
When we sold our last van it was pandemic time and it was parked up for three months doing nothing.
Consequence of course was that when the new owner took over, the Hab batteries were dead, expired, bereft of life (you know the dead parrot sketch)
The dealer changed the batteries but helpfully left the original ones (AGM) on takeover.
The new owner charged up the old ones and they sprang back to life and apparently are holding the charge.

I suppose what I am saying is don't assume that because the Hab. Batteries seem dead, don't assume. Charge them up and, if you can, give them some work and see how they perform.

If your PSU is a Sargent unit it will bleep and shut down the leisure electrics if the voltage in the leisure battery gets to low.
To cancel the alarm try pressing the levels button.

The light in the cabinet for the Sargent control panel runs off the vehicle battery.

I'd take it for a run anyway, at least it'll do the rest of the van some good. You'll need at least an hour to get it good and warm (why not have an afternoon out somewhere?).

Hopefully it'll also put some charge into the leisure batteries - not sure how much on the Chieftain - and although it is quite likely they've been damaged by being left flat it's not unheard of for recovery, albeit life length maybe shortened somewhat. Once you've got some power into the leisure batteries you can turn your attention to the control panel - like others my guess is it just needs resetting.

Then get those batteries fully charged and keep 'em that way by regular runs.

Not sure which control panel you have. On our van it is a Nord Electronica 183 and this can be reset by disconnecting the supply to it which in our case means removing a fuse and counting to 30 slowly before putting it back in. You also remove the panel and disconnect to 12v power in for the same result. If it is a Nord Electronica panel, it is not unusual for them to throw a hissy fit if the 12v supply gets too low, or, sometimes, just randomly when the mood takes them. Ours has done it about four times in two and a half years, nearly always when the van has stood for a few weeks without the electrics being used much.

Thanks for that mine is a sargent
Sargent Customer Services are very helpful.
