Help- near Malaga anyone know where we can get a Uk to Spanish adaptor for our gaslow or know anyone who can fill it for us please.
Nice and sunny during the day here
But cold at night especially in the hills!!

Lots of lpg ( gpl) available around malaga ,just check Google ,malaga gpl and there are around 8 places selling it. Lots have the adaptors if you need one to borrow .
Tried to provide you a link but won't work.for the hose it may be difficult to source but best to check the caravan spares outlets. If you have a BBQ point you could connect a Spanish bottle and regulator .They are cheap enough.

Think you will find that most of the places that sell LPG, have a collection of adapters, usually attendant service too ,so they will fill up for you.

Ok - thanks we will stop at a few and try.

Anyone know of any camping / caravan camping shops around Malaga.
Sorry to keep asking but we dashed off on the ferry last minute and amazon did not deliver the one we ordered in time!

Have you tried to borrow one off any of your neighbours ?

I would have thought any UK registered van with refillable LPG would carry adaptors.
You need to look at the number plate and then look for the LPG stickers that should be on the GasLow locker/filling point

We found that lots of gpl stations had adaptors ,although we do carry our own.Found that most Spanish garages were very accomodating and helpful.

A lot of the Chinese shops sell lpg flexible pipe as everyone uses it.

Most Repsol forecourts have a box of adaptors and if you're lucky they'll do it for you.

Thanks for all the advice everyone- much appreciated.

Try Surcaravaning Estepona.
Just off the A7
The approach is off-putting but they had a good selection of everything needed.
I haven't got the phone No. but the co-ords are
N36.4293.W5.1775

Good luck.

weve only found one place that didnt have the adaptors in ten years of travelling

Interesting:
Don't try this one in Sainsburys in the UK.

They have a strict 'No Adaptors' rule, and have signs up saying this.

I had a problem filling my motorhome recently, (external filling point, no adaptor).
The woman came out of the shop to double check that I was not using an adaptor.

Apparently a message from on high has gone to all the Sainsburys filling stations with LPG to closely watch motorhomes filling up.
The rule is strictly no adaptors and no filling other than external filling points.
(No filling points in lockers and no SafeFill or other external bottles)

So in other words you can't fill up. We have an external filling point and you have to screw in an adaptor to suit which country you are filling in & that includes the UK.

Yes this is the UK adaptor that screws into the filler point.

That’s because your fill point is foreign. My fill point is uk bayonet type. I only screw a adapter on, if abroad. In UK fits right in.

I believe that lpg cars in the uk must be able to fill without the use of an adapter. If right I can see Sainsburys logic of no adapter.
As we want to cut small holes for filler points in our vans we often use fittings that will always need an adapter.

I have a self build van with gas it external fill point fitted. At the time I had a option to go for UK bayonet, with adapters for other countries. You can get a bayonet fill point no different in size for the hole cut.

If a uk bayonet fitting is used it is recessed into the bodywork. It has to accept the pump gun which is wider than the bayonet fitting. Hence the hole in the van is a greater diameter than the filler pump. No tape to hand but maybe 75mm?

Using the smaller fitting that needs an adapter, adapter is 20mm thread? Then hole in bodywork is about 25mm. With the screwon adapter the pump gun stays totally outside the bodywork.
But perhaps I misunderstood ?

screw the adaptor in before you go to the pump if they send Joan from the till do you think she knows the difference
And if in Spain, it’s Juan from the till. 🙃

Mine is the same. U.K. filling nozzle fits straight on. I’ve not seen the ones that need the U.K. adapter fitting before. Perhaps if the owners of vans with these filling types can have the filler point changed to U.K. spec?

Why would we want to replace a nice small neat system, as shown in the photo below, with a large ugly filler that would not, in any event, fit on the curved skirting of my motorhome?

It is sold by both Gasit and Gaslow as an alternative, and therefore, along with its adaptor it meets "UK specs" in the sense that it can be used with the UK bayonet system. With other adaptors it can also meet all of the other systems in use throughout Europe. .
