All the gear, and no idea!
So, I’ve been watching you tube again and having been to the Düsseldorf show and have taken a liking to truck based motorhomes, and no it won’t be a Concorde, Phoenix or a Morelo, I think a RS Evolution (9m and 7.5ton) is more affordable (used of course) and yes I’ve heard the horror stories of the dealer but the last few mohos I’ve had off Simon-Alan Kerr I’ve had ZERO problems with so not too concerned with dealing with RS and their warranty, I get that I may as well fix it myself, and here’s the rational behind my thinking. I reckon the merc based moho will be a damn sight easier to work on, just flip cab up and all round access round the engine and I’m pretty sure diesel filters are cheaper than Fiat as are the air, oil filters👍 I’m pretty sure I can get mirrors off the local motorfactors cheaper than the bus mirrors on my carthago! I’d be more than happy to change a clutch on it than the Carthago, other than the 18-20mpg and somewhere to put I’m struggling to see anymore downsides over an A Class. l am capable of servicing and maintaining a truck based moho, but maybe not my 3.0L A Class, anyone see what I’ve got wrong??

Or should I just stop watching you tube??🤣🤣

Not many truck based vans at under 7500kg, are you OK going over? Another downside would be the lack of panoramic view out of the big front window, I would rather have a truck with A class on top.

But wouldn’t you be at the mercy of the dealer at extortionate prices? How’s the accessibility on something like that, I sure haven’t got a huge ramp to stick it on, hence my rationale to do the work from above with the cab tilted
Just looked for a twin glass mirror for truck £45 how much would an a class mirror be for something like a Morelo, Concorde etc?

Stop watching YouTube after too many beers 🍺!
Only joking . Follow your dreams but you currently have a very nice van .

£800+ for my 2004 Hymer.

Edit: That's for a genuine Hymer part, pattern ones are now available I believe at substantially lower cost.

A class on a truck would have a hatch in the floor to get at stuff for service, failing that it’s from underneath.

£549 for a complete clutch kit, don’t think I can do my comfortmatic for that!!!
C’mon guys, there’s only Lenny come up with a good downside (steering wheel on wrong side)

Will you lot stop trying to talk him out of it please.
If he’s not spending all that money on a concord etc, he won’t need so much for the Carthago when he sells it.:Grin:

I love trucks, full stop!!😁😁
I quite like the look of RS/RC/R? With the cab on the front at the end of the day it is a truck and easily fixed by anyone unlike the over complex German a class personally I prefer a cab type vehicle 👍

I am with you. And what is wrong with having the hab door onthe "wrong" side? And LHD is a breeze especially if you tour on the Continent. There are loads of motor factors out there and it is a very competitive market.
I think you missed the joke, us who drive left hookers like Westy & me consider the door on the left side to be the wrong side.

You can have a A class with truck accessibility if you go Diesel pusher and quieter than both.

I would expect all the maintenance and repair costs to be a fraction of even a run of the mill old Carthago like mine. Even complex engine repairs should be so much easier with cab tilted and accessed from the top.

Can we see a picture of subject vehicle to assess?
There you go, generic picture

What a fabulous description………. That’s another 10k off! :rofl::rofl::rofl:
Even a run of the mill Carthago is damn expensive💰💰💰💰😉😁😁

Does the cab still tilt though WESTY66 ? and on your above point re the price of cab mirror vs coach mirror, our van came with mirrors as I assume your Carthago did, how many do you plan on knocking off ? if it's enough to make you buy one of the above maybe you need to ask yourself a question:LOL:

Could get my Goldwing in that garage
Ah yes the garage, we haven’t even got round to the huge garage with built in jet wash and even a dedicated water tank for the jet wash🤔🤔
