Help....Dometic Hob

None in our area down South, we would have prefered a dometic engineer. Domestic did email me today asking for the serial number again....they did say they would rather go through the dealer previously o_O

There's two in Hampshire. Southdowns dealership are very good and have their own workshops, etc if necessary.

We had very poor combustion in our Dometic TecTower oven with yellow flames and is constantly going out and having to be relit. The technician at our dealer found that the Truma regulator had a bit of oil in it. Everything else seemed to work OK, just the oven effected. We also have GasLow and had filled in France and Spain as well as in the UK.
The regulator was changed and there was a marked improvement.
You could have the same problem.

Richard.
PS The regulator wasn’t covered by the Carthago or Truma warranty as it was considered that dodgy gas was at fault.

Thank you, hopefully a new regulator will be fitted by the weekend, fingers crossed it solves the problem of the burner :)

The jet has been cleaned,

have you checked that it is the correct size?

Just checked my identical hob. There is no air tube, the air comes in all around the lower part of the burner. The jet size in mine is a 72 and it works perfectly. It does appear as if there is either excess gas or not enough air to your burner. A very heavy handed fitter could have crushed the lower plate and restricted the air supply or the jet fitted has been damaged or is too large or possibly has been fitted badly and is leaking at the joint. All of the above are easy things to check. @Leltel PM me if you would like a bit of guidance.

Thank you so much for checking yours for me. I will email Southdowns again and ask what size jet has been used.
I may pm you at the weekend when we go away if the new regulator doesn't solve it!
Many thanks again
Lel

Jet has been replaced, supplied by Dometic so presume the correct size!
The burner was also previously replaced too.
It has been like it since new :/

@Leltel

I hope the regulator does the trick but I have my doubts as the other burners are working okay. It only takes a few minutes to disassemble the top and have a look inside you just need the correct small torx drive screwdriver.

Incidentally have you turned the gas supply knob in the drawer just in front of the sink on and off to see what happens.
