While touring in our motorhome at Hele Valley Holiday Park we visited Illfracombe and the lovely twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. You access Lynmouth re. the amazing Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway which connects the twin towns providing stunning coastal views that will be the highlight of any visit. The cliff railway is operated by water extracted from the West Lyn River more than a mile away and uses no other power source. Lynmouth is, in our opinion, the prettier of the two towns but both are worth exploring. Illfracombe is an interesting costal town with some stunning rock formations. Other local places worth a visit, if you have transport, are Woolacombe, Combe Martin, Croyde, The Valley of the Rocks and Minehead to name a few.
