Hope you all have good a/c systems as from Monday/Tuesday certain parts of France are expecting temperatures to reach 40C. An orange alert has been issued for the elderly people here.

I'm currently in Berlin. I'm making a beeline for the Baltic coast!

We're heading through the central bit this week. Might need to revise plans.

I think this is pretty serious, 43C is forecast, we had something close to that on the Loire a few years back in caravaning days

It is hotter than body temperature when seriously ill

beware

Heading for Magny-cours on Wednesday. Might be a tad warmer than the mediterranean i've been bathing in today:rolleyes:

Heading north to Saumur tomorrow on our way to Paris, just put more water on the shopping list as well as beer. Just being practical you understand.

GOOD. Beer should never be chilled, always serve at room / cellar temperature! "cooled" a little in the Persian Gulf summer but never chilled.

English bitter and some brown ales, agreed. Most other types of beer are far nicer chilled though (but not frosty!).

Yes, BUT they have to be chilled, have you ever tasted a warm lager? To me warm lager tastes like cat`s P.

Tin hat on , Incoming expected anytime :D

Our local forecast for here in the Correze is 36C to 38C for Wed to Sat inc. Trouble is that's there virtually no breeze. That makes the temperature feel a lot higher. Lots of liquid needed.

Just woken at Aire in Oradour-sur-Glane 29.4 C outside at 7.15 UK time. It’s gonna be a warm one. Last night we sat outside until midnight and I still had to fire up the air-con for an hour to get to sleep, after that the endless breeze made it bearable through the night.

I have just been reading about this. You are right - it is dangerous.

It was hot in France last year and we stayed one night in Nimes when it was a good job the hotel had a pool and air con. Just checked the weeks weather in Nimes and it’s predicted 43C one day this week:hot:

In Carcassonne at the moment and had planned to head north up the centre of France. Now we are hot footing it to the Ile d'oleron where the temperature look to be in the mid 20's.
Must say the Endless Breeze has been a godsend the last few days.

We are a cool 30 degrees sat down on the Med

However, next week will be rising up to 40 degrees

Pool, Beach, lake and River will take the edge off it though:cool:

It has just started to rain in Bressuire, not often you welcome the rain, but we do this morning.

Interesting area and very easy to have a few days in Denmark as well.

Check out strandkarte for Germany, you need a permit to go on a lot of beaches in Baltic, you wont be allowed on without it. They're sometimes included with camping or stellplatz charge.

I'm pleased the Atlantic is being warmed up ready for me, for a few days in August last year it was 15c near Royan!
Then wind changed direction and back to 22c .

We were cycling along the Nantes Brest Canal near Josselin yesterday in the low 30’s. Light rain today but higher temperatures expected here later in week.

We keep heading north. Left Med Spain, through France and now in the Mosel but the heat keeps following us!!!

We leave to get AWAY from it!

Even parts of Scandiland (our eventual destination north) have got the high pressure as well!!!

Thanks, I didn't know that. I'll look into it!
