Exp
Caravan & motorhome 45 + yrs
If so............ are you happy with it..?

Pro`s and con`s ... please...

Going to lose our deposit on sites booked and slot`s soon... :frowny:

Might be a good van if you don't want to take the missus, Mo, i.e. the payload will be very low if registered at 3,500kg.

Similar to the iH motorhome expensive for what they are and hard to sell punters compare with cheaper van conversions

Saw a few at PBoro today...
Layouts didn't inspire me
But looked ok... not sophisticated carpentry... but did the job.

We have a Vantage Sol not Eos-had it a few months and its superb. The build quality is exceptional-simply doesn't compare with cheaper vans IMO-worth every penny. We like the end lounge and this one is less than 6metres but feels pretty big inside. Doensized from a Hymer 544 and no regrets.

Would the 150hp unit be better for a 6.36 metre van?
Looks a cracking layout though

450kg payload............. about right for that type of van...

Or are you insinuating my misses is larger than life.... :Eeek:

She can come and stay with us in Durham while you go on tour, lol.

The 450kg is the standard figure so I would expect your van to be circa 200kg of available payload, assuming you can fully use the rear axle.

Have a look at devon conversions , just bought a 2020 model on delivery miles for 44k . Good value for money

I have a 2017 Vantage Med at 5.4m. Fully loaded on road with an e-bike on the back on a tow bar the van weighs 3150kg. I’m solo traveller so weight does not include a passenger. I’ve had the van from new and I have been very impressed with the detail design and the build quality. The van had a couple of very minor teething problems with equipment which were easily resolved; team at Vantage at the time were great to deal with. My van will stay with me for a long time, it’s perfect for me.

Steady on ... this is Slow-Mo we're talking about!

(I agree though).

Don't you worry Auld Yin she'll be safe with me!:whistle2:

She would kill you... Young-yin...

Thanks for all the answers... (y)

Cannot give any smileys, cos I am not logged on... and not very happy... :swear:

We did buy an unseen Vantage Neo.... paid deposit and agreed what`s, what.... one to two weeks and we can collect... over two weeks we are still waiting .... supposed to be sorting a scratch on a door and scuff marks on the bumper... I am beginning to think there is a lot more wrong than meets the eye...

No answer to PM`s... or promised phone calls after waiting in all day... :swear2:

Waiting on Monday to see if Vantage can do a deal on a brand new one... If they can... watch this space :whatthe:💩...if I come back on... I may retire, don`t need all the hassle we are having...

I have, I think and hope always treated people the way I would expect to be treated... when it comes down to business especially when I have sold a motor home or three to member`s...

Anyway... thanks people..... rant over for now....

Yes you are 3150 kg which is 583 kg per meter.
If you are 6.3 it’s 3675 kg.
Our is 6.3 long, was surprised what we weighed full loaded, not under weight for sure.
We did the calculations on our journey, we were even putting into our own body weight.
I was walking!

I was just putting some data out there and not making any conclusion for a 6.3 m van. It’s certainly not just pro rata for length as all the heavy equipment is the identical In both vans. I did note in the photographs that the van had a gas cylinder locker in the rear whereas mine has an underslung tank. I do suspect there would be a rear axle weight problem if it’s heavily loaded, but I don’t know. Perhaps someone will come in with some actual weighbridge data for a 6.3m van?

Hope you get it sorted 🍻

I knew you'd see the positives in it, Auld Yin!(y)

A few deeps breaths, sighs and relax.(y) Hopefully you get sorted soon.

Modern society, me, me, me and no respect for others.(n)

I was even gonna offer you you're full asking price for the van and tell you to round it up to the nearest pound but for some reason you pulled the ad!:crying:

Chill, Auld Yin, as me finger's hovering over the Funstress Harem quick dial button. They'll be round in a flash to pin you down tae the fluir if you don't!:whistle2::Smile:

There is someone on here who has a Vantage Neo and loves it. I am racking my brains. They are highly sought after and regularly win awards for customer service. I am sorry about your current experience especially as I put you into it.

They might be Wicketter . I am really sorry that you aren’t having any luck with the second hand van but if you are getting bad vibes then you must go with your gut. You’ve bought and sold enough stuff. I am sorry though old-mo

We nearly bought one first time round in the days when it was owned by Scott Naylor but they didn’t do part exchange and to be honest that was the main deciding factor as I preferred the kitchen and bathroom even though they are a bit more Spartan.
The over storage is enclosed on an IH and deeper.
The boot space is more open on an IH and you can fit a Quest pop up under one of the beds.

Beds slightly easier to makeup in the Vantage as you don’t need to turn the cushions round to avoid the hump in the middle if you make up the big bed!

lots more electric sockets as standard in a vantage.

compressor fridge standard.

We are now on our second Vantage Sol, over eight years. Any minor issues have been sorted quickly and professionally. We have been very pleased with them. Don’t forget they are manufacturers not dealers, and they have been present in numbers at two shows this year so far.
I’ll be posting the weighbridge details of ours later. Just to say in holiday trim with two adults we are well under on both axles and total weight.

I think that’s untrue about reselling, they tend to be snapped up very quickly, both Vantage and IH. They are a niche market. We could have bought a cheaper van that did the job but had the money to buy something fancier.

It’s the same buying cars, motorbikes, houses or handbags!

Our previous Vantage which we px’d found a buyer within a day!
