What does a “Hager” unit do I had a buzzing when I plugged the mains lead in (at home) found said item behind the passengers seat flicked off the big switch buzzing stopped. Previously I had left the MH for 2 weeks and the engine battery was flat. Any ideas what I left switched on? Tried to contact previous owner only to find he had passed away ?⚰️

Perhaps you switched off the charger ?
No idea what a Hager unit is but others may know.

Looks like a switch box battery was flat before I turned it off

Just a thought. If it is an RCD type unit it could be....... On = UP, OFF = Down.

Have you accidentally switched it off?

Showing green so I assume that it’s on pouring of rain so no enthusiasm to rummage around until morning

Very likely to be a Hager RCD, MCB or RCBO. Or some combination of them. Here's some pics. You'll only be able to see the centre section - the top and bottom are hidden inside the box.

An RCD and RCBO have a 'test' button that trips it OFF. An MCB doesn't have a test button.

Read the text printed on it. An RCD will have '0.03A' or '30mA' on it. An MCB will have '6C', '10C' or possibly '16C' on it. (Or maybe 6B, 10B or 16B). An RCBO will have both.

The one with the wire is the RCBO. The double width one is the RCD.

Google 'Hagar GARAGE consumer units'
Normally just a main switch and 2 or sometimes 3 breakers in a small cabinet.

Unplug from mains, remove cover and check tightness of all screws.
They can work loose and the buzzing could be a high frequency arc at a loose screw......but you'd need good ears to hear it.
To tighten the screws professionally you need a proper torque screwdriver but at around 70 quid just tighten them.

Cool that was easy to add a picture . Def a CB. Flicked it back on and no buzzing. Will check the screws next time I’m bored. Thanks all
