Morning all, quick one please. Our Burstner goes into the Dealer tomorrow for its first Hab Check. I am wondering a) what do i do to get it ready for this and b) what do they actually do?

I did find a post to this else where but being new to the site i dont know how to download it yet.

Can anyone help please?

Derek

You'll get opinions on here but surely the best advice will come from the dealer who will be doing the check?

Best to make sure all parts of the van are accessible. If you can, empty any lockers that have water or electrical services in.

They should go all over the van so make sure there is nothing personal, high value or embarrassing around. Not suggesting anyone is dishonest, but it can save a difficult conversation.

It should take an hour or so, and they should have a checklist that you get a copy of.

Had our Burstner done last year and again this coming November. Took about two hours and was very thorough as they spotted really small things. Then they registered it with Burstner to keep up the warr@nty.

Hi you should get a comprehensive list of everything (if anything) that is wrong with your van. Along with a detailed drawing showing damp meter readings that you can keep and use to check against future reading as a early warning of any problems with damp. They will check electrical and gas systems and that everything like boiler/ fridge etc are all working. Keep any information in a owner pack 👍

Ours had to be completely empty unless screwed down.
That's all cupboards and garage and soft furnishings
Dealer then fumigated the interior against covid. So it was a full morning's work.

Wow thank you all very much this is really helpful. Started the process to empty the van completely and already have an almost full house! I am very pleased to hear we might get some sort of report that can be kept to prove it was at least done and no action was required.

Honestly do appreciate all your help, great to be part of this ‘Club‘ thanks again.

Derek

PS 1 and only I only have 20 miles to go so hopefully will avoid your situation!! (y)
