got the new van :)

Wow, exciting times (y)(y)
I use Stavely Head for my insurance and they have given me a good price for the new van being picked up in June.

For a year trip in Europe you will obviously need a policy that covers that time abroad.. and preferably with breakdown cover..

I have just insured with Comfort, they provide 365 EU cover and Europe wide breakdown assistance with the RAC assist..

I also had quotes from AIB, Safeguard and NFU.. Comfort gave the best cover , NFU was very expensive..

try them all, and don't forget you need to tell them if you are living in your van continuously for a year.. that may consider that is full time and bump the premium up.. not disclosing may void the policy..

I'm also with Caravan guard, I think European breakdown cover is an extra with them
It was, but it was still cheaper than others although we have been with them for years so get a discount plus a discount for the tracker

I use Direct Line as I had 2 years no claims on my second car which I sold and transferred to the new MoHo. £194 with£350 excess or £234 at £0 excess. No concerns about alarm, tracker or where I parked as long as it was in the same AB10 postcode. I park on my drive but there will be times that I need to park it overnight close by so I made that clear. Caravan Club wanted something in the region of £500 after their discount. Aye, right!!!

You need to check that the cover is what you require :-)

Interesting as Direct Line told us they don't do cover for motor homes. I had 15 years NCB with them on my car (sold when we bought the MH) but could only transfer 7.......

Very strange indeed. Perhaps they have seen the light because they do now(y)

It was 11 months ago when we asked.... they also took forever to confirm the no claims entitlement. Because of the hassle we moved the Martin's car insurance at renewal as well.

Not sure what we will do this year. :)

Following a recommendation made by friend met on holiday we used Staveley Head, very competitive price and good cover. Enjoy the new van, we've had ours 3 months now
