I'm a newbie
Hi all,

The wife and I love to travel and we feel the time is right to purchase a MH. We have two late teen children, who both love to travel and a lazy lab who loves to sleep. This forum looks like a wealth of knowledge regarding MH so here we are. We are looking for a 4 berth and we Intend to use it extensively, in the UK and Europe. We are undecided as to go all in for a new one or get a mid range to start and upgrade after a few years.
Anyway, nice to join the gang and any help and/ot advice is more than welcomed.

Gary and Rachel.

With teens and large dog you should rent first and see a few before you commit. It’s a steep learning curve! Spend some time reading on the forum lists and seeing loads of layouts at dealers. It’ll be time well spent. The NEC show in October is worth going to if you plan your visit and don’t get overwhelmed with info. ( or talked into anything). And welcome to here!

Thank you for the info, much appreciated. We do plan on spending some time looking through various dealers. The NEC show is a great idea, we will plan a visit.

I agree - rent first, and take ages to pick the right layout.

Late teens means they may not want to be travelling with you for much longer, so a layout that may seem OK now, won’t necessarily be good later on.

Lots of things to consider, so get all the information you can from here (paying for a subscription will be well worth it).

Welcome. To fun.
No dog but my grandchildren still come away with us, 18, 20 and 22. They now sleep in the awning as we have a smaller van.
Do hope you have a C1 licence as you will need an over 3500 to get the payload you need. (Partner takes his car for all the extra we need and 1 of the boys) made up beds are good, but I really liked the me and you space our old 6 berth gave us.
Biggest learning curve for us was that we really needed something with outside accessible storage.
We take the quest with us as a dining relaxing room.
also hire first, but beware we decided what we wanted and came back with something entirely different .
