You usually get an evening meal and a breakfast (or at least a voucher to cover breakfast).

I would echo the others, just do it. It is wonderful on the overnight crossing just to wake up and be directly there in Spain.
We didn’t get any vouchers for food even though we had a friends and family discount. Boarding in Portsmouth around midday, I had packed our overnight bags with PJs and toiletries, medications and books, phones and chargers (take an adapter from three pin to European 2 pin). In another bag, I packed the travel kettle that we use in the van, tea bags, mugs and spoons and a flask of cold milk. Add to that snacks like cheese and biscuits and fruit and you are good to go until evening meal. We bought that in restaurant and then next morning, started with cuppas and biscuits until around 11 and then had continental breakfast in the self service cafe.
This kept us going from disembarkation until settled at our first stop with was the free aire at the Elephant Park. Enjoyed watching the elephants that evening and the next morning when they were let out around 9 am and made a run for it!
You have the opportunity now to do it and get a bit of winter sun.

Also, it’s imperative that you set your phone to airplane mode. You don’t want to be accidentally using the marine data as it’s very expensive.

Depends on the vessel. As you are crossing in December, it will be Galicia. Price includes an e ing meal and breakfast. I do not recommend the VIP lounge as it’s not great value for money.
We will be eating the cheep food for 36 hrs.

We have been going this route each year for the last 7 years, always mid December for 3 weeks as thats all work allow and i dont want to be wasting days travelling down through France. For Club Voyage members which is worth getting if you make just 1 trip a year there is a £10 food and drink voucher at the catering point of your choice as well as Dinner included. The crossing has gotten longer though as it used to be 24 hours but its now well over 30 which is a pain but then as long as the boat sails its not too much of a bother.
Enjoy the trip anyway.

You must all be having fun doing the bay of B in winter weather 30 ft or more waves sometime 😱😱😱

Food is no longer included on sailings after the 6th November.

We booked in July for Portsmouth/ Santander return ( £1047 ) for 18th November. We only get evening meal included on each crossing. Breakfast is no longer included.

Do you get a £10 voucher for onboard spend? This is in lieu of breakfast.

So its only breakfast that has been dropped, I like being well fed.
