Hello everyone, this is my very first post.

I am near Munich at the moment and planning to go to Sweden, Norway, Denmark,Estonia, Lithuania, Poland etc.
Should I go up via eastern Europe, cross towards west (Norway) and come down Norway -Denmark or the opposite, going up Denmark -Norway and then cross to the east and coming down on the eastern side

Thanks in advance
Luis

hi welcome;

sorry cant help with the route but this will bump your question so someone may pick up.

I did Denmark ,Sweden, Norway up to the North cape and down through Finland then ferry to Tallinn and into eastern europe amazing, just msje sure you have plenty of gas !

In Laws did the Denmark Norway Sweden Finland Baltic states and Kaliningrad (check visa restrictions) way round and purchased enough tinned cassoulets to see them through Norway. Theyve done it a couple of times.

I dont think it would make too much difference which way but hitting 24 hour daylight would be in my planning and understand starting Sweden via bridge or ferry.

Enjoy your trip

Depends on the month you are going.

Don't underestimate the time it will take to drive from bottom to top of Norway, it's all slow roads with lots of ferries.

Norway will be the most interest bit, also the most expensive and the slowest section, so depending on if you have a time or money budget, I would go around clockwise, Norway first.
So if you run out of time, money, gas, wine and other important stuff, you can cut the trip short at any point.

I am not planning on going all the way up north in Norway. But reading now all the posts maybe I don't have all the money it needs lol
Probably underestimating!

Ok, we are nr Rosenheim, 50km south if you want a coffee and a chat, we did do Denmark, Norway and Sweden a few years ago.
I am at Freistaat store waiting to get a bit warmer before moving north

If your going to bars ,restaurants etc then yes you need plenty of cash however we shopped at local markets they are like garden centres and therefore not too bad price wise and good quality. We stocked up in flensburg ,then Sweden before going across the border.

That's a bit of a trek from here, it's close to 2 hrs depending on traffic..

We did Denmark via Flensburg, over the bridge ( can be exciting 🤔 with the wind), round the coast to Oslo, up the coast, not forgetting the Atlantic way, we then crossed into Sweden as it was too cold for madame (6 degrees and that was June) down the coast to Malmo and the ferry back to Germany via Travamunde, then a gentle dr8ve back to Bavaria.

That was a 3.5 week trip, we costed it at an average of 140 euros a day all in. That's diesel, camping, shopping, tolls etc,

The route I took last time I did it in 2015 was, Germany, Denmark, West Sweden coast, Norway, East Sweden coast, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France.

Sweden is my favourite country with lots of Guest Harbours along the coast and lakes for stopping. 👍

If you don't have the time don't think you've to go all the way up. There are spectacular sites in S Norway. We still haven't got north of Trondheim and we've been 4 times.
