I cycled past Glencapel today and saw the community effort to welcome Motorhomers.
Well done to them.
Don't forget the honesty box.

Been there a few times lovely spot but can get a bit busy

Just one campervan this morning. Perhaps Tuesday is the best day.
We live just a few miles away and I cycle past often, I can assure you it can be very busy some nights. Like everything a few are going to spoil it for the rest, they also have Castle corner about 2 miles away that works the same way.

All the money goes to the local community.

Both beautiful places.

I just hope people donate as they should.

I think I passed Castle Corner but I thought it looked like a private site.
Still well done to all and I hope it does not get taken advantage of.

It used to be a CL until a few years ago but they didn't have the time to manage it so rather than shut it they changed it to donations, I assumed you where staying there as no other sites close by.

Looks a nice place and is google maps correct 45 minutes of the m74?
I think you could do it comfortably, I would come all the way into Dumfries then head out to Glencaple. I wouldn't recommend coming in the back way via Clarancefield and Ruthwell.

No, I'm staying at West Moss farm, nr. Annan. Lovely place like parking on a bowling green.

Stayed there once - don't know why folk rave about it 🤷‍♂️... ate in the pub opposite, imo distinctly average to poor...
Each to their own

The area is nice but the pub has went downhill since the owner passed away and his daughters now run it, on the other hand "The Boathouse" cafe/resturant is quite nice.
