Planning to go to Germany via Luxembourg and then back through Belgium I can see that I should get Umweltzone plaquette for Germany

Having looked at https://www.berlin.de/labo/mobilitaet/kfz-gulassung/feinstaubplakette/shop.86595.en.php as suggested by Rod_VW I failed at the second hurdle managed the first quite well (I knew MH registration number) But I have no idea what a COC-Paper is

Google says "The Certificate of Conformity (COC) is a document proving that the produced type of vehicle at the time of its production fulfils all the technical requirements needed for EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EC-WVTA)."

I am still non the wiser. Can anyone advise me what this is?

I am leaning towards page 2 of V5C, or log book as it used to be known as but don't want it flying round the internet if it's the wrong document so I thought it best to get some advice.

Will I need anything like this for Luxembourg or Belgium as well?

You should have or it will be useful to have an Umweltzone sticker even if you don't intend to drive in the cities. The aire in Freiburg is a good example of why, as you can not access the aire on the outskirts without driving through the LEZ I'm sure there are others

Certificate of Conformity is issued by the company that built your motorhome

WARNING, do not rely on websites offering the purchase of environmental stickers/badges. Those stickers/badges are neither necessary nor valid to circulate in the Brussels’ LEZ.

All the Belgium cities require individual registration there is no charge provided your vehicle meets the required standard

You can register here
http://urbanaccessregulations.eu/countries-mainmenu-147/belgium/bruxelles-brussel-brussels

Under exemptions tag....
The following vehicles can request an exemption that is valid for 3 years:

  • exceptional traffic
  • vehicles of handicapped people with the proper parking card
  • vehicles equipped with a wheelchair lift
  • motorhomes
  • historic vehicles registered outside of Belgium
  • vehicles especially adapted for markets, fairs, parades and mobile businesses
  • vehicles specially equipped for maintenance and control of public interest infrastructures and installations

I am starting from minus ignorance here, but I think CoC were only introduced about 2005.

Therefore if one has no CoC the vehicle is likely to have been built before then so have a Euro 3 engine, so unlikely to get a LEZ sticker that would permit entry.

Therefore forget it.

Await corrections with anticipation.

When we bought ours in April 2005 from Germany, we couldn't get one as Concorde said they didn't issue them for a van of our vintage, 2005.

Although 2008 we had not CoC for our van. Last year had no problem, just sent off photocopy of V5.
Will need a go box this year for Austria, phoned up as I wanted to get the box before we went after hearing horror stories of not getting one for miles from a garage on entering Austria.
They are not sending go boxes to non EU countries, and as uk is in a state of flux will can not get one till we get there. :(
Fiat supplied a CoC frot he base vehicle think it was £32 not bothering paying for a CI one as saving on the route we are taking would be less than initial cost of the Certificate, if we could get one 4T 3L van

Fiat C of C is irrelevant needs to be from the converter. Also may have shot yourself in the foot with the Fiat one, it will have emissions on it that the converters one won't, just the Euro class.

I have looked through all the info I was given when Monty the MH was purchased and although he was first registered in 2008 I don't have a COC for him so I will just send a PDF of his V5 (log book). I will let you all know if this is acceptable for both Germany and Belgium.

But I am going to wait until after the 29th March to apply for them. I'm sure something earth shattering is supposed to happen then!!!!!!

Thanks for the help and link about the requirements in Belgian too.

I sent for my umweltte plakette via süd tuv I think, I don’t remember being asked for my CoC just my V5 copy. Peugeot Boxer 2015 Euro5. Arrived within a few days(y)

I would think your V5 will be perfectly acceptable. I only answered your question. ”what is a COC?”

The question on the form says “please enclose registration documents eg. COC-paper” your registration documents are the V5 are they not?

If it were me I’d send it today you’ll probably have it by next weekend.
