Hi, We are off for a 6 week trip at the beginning of Sept, and thought we might venture to the Black Forest region of Germany and into Austria. Never been to Germany or Austria before in our MH, any suggestions of where to head for or any recommendations of sites etc. Any tips of driving through Germany/Austria would be welcome.

Look for lake Tittisee, I don't have locations to hand, but there are wonderful sites dotted around it! It is our favourite area. Last year our plot neighbours were Russians on a site there, we ended up drinking (what I suspect to be illicit) vodka all night whilst they cooked up fish caught from the lake - my head hurt in the morning! :D

We're just back, went to the Black Forest on the way out. Only stopped at two places; Kehl just east of Strasbourg over the border and Lake Schluchsee to the South. Both lovely places & well worth a visit.

Kinzig valley and Schiltach, Wolfach and Hausach are lovely. Easy cycling and free (if on campsite) train travel.

Went last year.. drive up the Mosel to Koblenz, then up the Rhine .. plenty of cheap Stellpatz and sites along the route .. onward to Austria

Baden-Baden is worth a visit.. there is a Stelplatz near the town centre..

For Stellplatz and some campsites catering for motor homes (Whonmobil) use the Campercontact app .

If you want small overnight places try....

Vöhrenbach in the village park, no services but peaceful and picturesque. https://goo.gl/maps/mGAKAGz7WtG2

Beuron stellplatz with EHU etc, WC at about 100m. https://goo.gl/maps/hPyzScWiHpQ2

Burgweiler three places at end of sports hall, only free EHU. Small primary school uses adjacent area as playground etc. https://goo.gl/maps/mQQ9RcDaje62

Geisingen purpose made stellplatz with all facilities except WC. Has wi-fi but doesn't have any shade. https://goo.gl/maps/QczQ8bmLbkP2 Don't approach from village if over 3m high, low bridge!

Holzschlag Parking for five Motorhomes on hard standing, free water & waste disposal, pay (€5 per night to park) https://goo.gl/maps/6KSyHrmekR62

Herrischried Free parking for five opposite lake. It's where I am at this moment having spent the day enjoying a classic vehicle gathering which we tripped over by accident last evening. https://goo.gl/maps/Dj7becWNuV12

I've used the top one and bottom one and viewed the others.

The weather is beautiful, temperatures in the top twenties and just a little breeze.

If you go to Beuron, which is an Arch Abbey for the Benedictine order, make sure you take your ear plugs as the call to prayer start at
4.00 am....so my wife tells me :D

We stayed at the then ACSI site in Dornstetten a couple of years ago and would recommend it. Its not ACSI now but is a nice place to stay.

It's not far from the barefoot park. https://www.barfusspark.de

Its a nice site almost at the top of a hill with nice walks and a decent bar and restaurant.
