Gaslow Wave Bluetooth gauge

For information the Mopeka sensor is fitted to bottom of cylinder nothing else required except an app on your phone and they are very accurate they are magnetic I actually got PaulandChrissy to manufacture some cradles to give an extra secure fixing.

I’ve read a few reviews of the ultrasonic type sensors that attach to the bottom of cylinders stating that they are not designed for refillables due to the internal 80% cut-off float giving false readings. Anyone have experience of that?

Thanks good to hear it seem accurate. not too concerned about cost lol
Just make sure you do have the newer type bottles as the wave unit will only work with the multivalve bottles. Chances are that is what you have but always worth checking (y)

As far as I am aware they read the amount of liquified gas in the cylinder and with an 80% fill it will read 100% when full as mine has proved on refilling so it’s accurate enough for me😊 how accurate do you require it to be?

I have had them on both cylinders for about 18 months. More than happy with them. Seem accurate. Batteries need replacing every 7-8 months.

Reading 100% at a true 80% fill isn’t the problem I’ve read about, (that’s a non-issue AFAIK), it’s the internal cut-off float in refillable cylinders interfering with the operation of a bottom mounted ultrasonic device and giving false readings. I see that Truma specifically advise that their own LevelCheck ultrasound unit is “not suitable for plastic gas cylinders, refillable tank gas cylinders, gas tanks or butane gas cartridges (Campingaz).” Hence my query regarding other units.

Monzer. When you say newer bottles, what age bottes are you referring too, please.

I'm not sure when they were phased out but they moved on to multi valve bottles and the older bottles can't have a wave system fitted.

This is the multi valve bottle...

The wave gauge replaces the little dial you see in this pic.

Another very satisfied Mopeka customer. Now £100 for a pair , gaslow £118 each

would these work on gasit system. I find the little magentic ones they supply just show full or empty

Do the Mopeka ones work on Aluminium bottles. Aside from the attaching them problem.

Thanks. I have a 3D printer (and design tools) so no probs with the holder.

Just ordered the Mopeka pair above.
It’s a shame they can’t be turned off, or have remote batteries fitted, due to them not being required most of the time, and requiring cylinder removal for battery change.

I change the update rate from the default 3 seconds to the 10.5 second option in the app, and I get 18 months to 2 years of battery life.
