I'm a newbie
Does anyone know which system is best (Gaslow or Gasit) and why gas it is nearly £200 cheaper. Any advice welcome

I thought hoses were different. With one being braided S/S ones, and the other just being rubber.

if you 'search' the subject there were some very comprehensive views here only a few weeks ago

I've just fitted a Gas-It system. Very happy with it and the price. See absolutely no reason to pay more for the Gaslow system.

?best of both worlds; Alugas cylinders for low weight and Gasit fittings for price

I have one of each cylinder and they are identical as far as I can tell.

Self-installed a Gas-It kit from eBay with external filling point on van skirt.

Very happy with it.

Always a bit nerve-wracking filling it up... but no probs so far.

I always find it embarrassing when I come to pay the paltry amount to top up. :(
I soon get over it though. (y)

Check out individual component price cheap way is rubber hoses - more expensive is stainless hoses - dont think there is much difference on basic bottle cost

If I was to do it again I would go with neither. I have Gaslow fitted but next time I would go for an underslung tank. JMTW.

I probably would do the same. Then I would have more space in the garage. I wish I’d thought more carefully about it, but we were new to MHs when I installed it.

We wanted refillable gas installing this time last year, and faced the same question - gaslow or gas-it?

Also considered underslung tank.

Found co in Bristol who would do the installation - gas-it - on our drive at home for a very reasonable price.

1x11kg & external fill point + a set of continental adaptors - supplied and fitted at our convenience for less than £300.

We kept a standard 6kg Calorlite installed as a back up, but haven't needed it so far.

Very happy - worked a treat in Spain through the winter. (y)

We have a single 14kg Alugas bottle which saves significant weight over the 2 x 6kg Calor bottles we were carting about and it also frees some space up in the locker. We still have the pigtail to connect a Calor bottle in parallel if required, but not had reason to as yet.

That was my plan till I got to Autogas 2000 at thirsk! Ended up with a 14+11 and a BBQ point, oh well:D

Alugas is the way to go, though slightly more expensive.
The difference in weight is just under 13kg, nearly 2 stones, on a twin 11kg system compared to Gaslow R67. I know because I weighed them rather than taking notice of the claimed weights.

Hi,
Thought Gas-it was based in Caernarfon, N. Wales, not Bristol? (I ask cos I'm going to Bristol this week)
