Hi
Does the fridge cool quicker on gas or electric or no difference?
Come off the ferry and would like to cool fridge asap at first campsite

If you have spare space in your freezer compartment, then freeze some bottled water before you get on the ferry and then move them to the fridge compartment for the journey on the ferry to help keep it cool.
 
Gas is by far the most efficient. If your going somewhere really hot its worth getting a fridge vent kit.
 
Do you need to turn your fridge off on the ferry if it’s only electric?
No, not necessary. I leave my fridge on. When I had a big 12V battery bank I left the 3-way fridge on 12V, not always possible on some MHs. Now that I have a big 48V battery bank I leave it on 240V from the inverter. If the MH has gas, it needs to be turned off at the bottle/tank.
