Hi Folks - back for some more advice from you good people!

I'm about to order a Gas-It kit for my Autotrail and fit it myself. I don't have access to the van right now and wondered if there are any resident experts who could advise:

I currently have a two 13kg bottles in my 2019 Delaware. I will be replacing them with 1*11kg and 1* 6kg Gas-it setup. It appears that the kit has all of the lines and connections to plumb it in, but I can't ascertain if the fittings are correct to go directly to the van regulator, or if there is some sort of thread/size converter I need to do that? I know the Calor left-hand thread connectors from the regulator are there but not sure about the connection to the twin bottle supply?

Has anyone done that and can advise on what I need to make the connections?

Save some money and buy one off a Funster in the classifieds section. Gas It is the same as Gaslow.

With Gas it the kit has hoses that will fit the regulator and it’s very easy to do.👍😊 Personally would go for two 11KG cylinders though.

Easy to do .Just check that the pipe from the fill point to bottles is long enough .
I had order a longer one.

Once you have decided what bits you need shop around as sometimes its cheaper to buy some from one supplier and other bits from another, rather than all from one, unless of course they will price match.

They use the same pigtails as Butane, so you just need to change the pigtails.

I’ve found on a two month tour last year I only just cracked open the second 13kg bottle. So essentially carted 30kg around for nothing. With refillables, I could fill once a month or 3 weeks, with a 6kg bottle as a spare should I be stupid enough to run out (easily possible). Has your experience been different?

28Lt (14kg) lasts us 15-18 days providing it's reasonably warm.

The cost difference between a 6kg and 11kg isn't much but will give you more storage capacity so less need to hunt out refilling places or move your motorhome's butt to do so if you get nicely ensconced somewhere. An alternative would be to buy the 2 x 6kg ones that a funster is selling in classifieds and save yourself quite a lot of dosh.

We travel down to Spain for winter birding and usually hole up on a site for four or five weeks so rather than worry about running out have two 11kgs to save having to move the van.
Nothing wrong with the set up you are looking at everyone to their own we all have different requirements.😊

I suspect my usage has been frugal then lol. Had a similar trip 2 years ago in a caravan with similar usage!

But hoping to be off-EHU more often this trip. So perhaps I’ll take a look at two 11kg’s.

Another option is to go for a single 11kg and have a normal non-refillable as a back-up for emergency use.

Third option is one 11kg, and a Gas-It bluetooth sensor so you know well in advance when you need to fill up.

We fill up before going to France as its only 57p at out local Morrisons have seen it over a Euro in France

Only about 30p in Belgium.
I tend to fill up in the UK if going to France and Spain as I like to have propane in the bottles not a mixture or propane & butane. Portugal is like the UK at least 95% propane also I think Holland, Belgium, Germany d Austria are. Spain and France can be up to 65% butane depending on time of year and area.
