Just a tad..
I love the Garmin 760 I use on the MH. I find the interface intuitive, instruction clear and the mapping very accurate. I do however have one challenge…

I browse google maps for route planning, waypoints and the route I wish to take. I like this interface for the planning phase. Granted the Garmin has the vehicle dimensions, so that will have the possibility to change the route, but that’s not really an issue.

Getting to the crux of the questions, is there a google maps to Garmin adapter that allows me to set a route in Google and transfer to my Garmin unit?

My final question, is there something that allows me to select a what3words square and enter that into my Garmin? I am then happy with Garmin mapping selecting the ‘best’ route for my vehicle dimensions and weight.

Thanks in advance

Instead of using Google Maps I use Garmin BaseCamp (free) on PC \ laptop for route planning and find it very good. If you need to enter a new co-ord you can right click on Google Maps to get it (auto saves to clipboard) and paste into BaseCamp.

As stated above. Try base camp. It’s by garmin, it’s free and very easy to use for plotting routes. I have been using it for years now for both motorcycle and Motorhome route planning. The routes can easily be exported to others via email. Which is very useful for the motorcycle trips I lead.

Worth mentioning that BaseCamp or Mapsource (which I prefer) do not require an Internet connection to use.

LesW glenn2926 Gellyneck Thanks all… with base camp, what’s the integration, as in, how do I get my waypointed route plotted on Basecamp into the Garmin SatNav display?

You connect your unit to your computer/laptop, using a 'normal' USB connecter, the type you may get with a phone charger, when you've created your route or waypoints, just select 'send' and choose your chosen destination from the little window thing that pops up.

Might be easier to search on youtube for a visual explanation.

Just building on the above from LesW and glenn2926 the usb cable you need is one capable of data transfer (not just power as some mobile phone suppliers provide) and has a micro usb connection for your 760.
Got my 760 plugged in as we speak to load a couple of routes onto it.(y)
Dead easy.

In addition, when you load any map updates onto your 760 there's an option to install these into BaseCamp on your pc \ laptop as well (best to do this as it keeps your sat nav and pc sync'd). This means you can plan away to your hearts content without your sat nav even being connected to your pc \ laptop.(y) You just then connect the 760 to your pc \ laptop to transfer the route/s over.

If you wanted to, and I do, but it brings a little more complexity you can have BaseCamp on both pc and laptop so pc at home and laptop when travelling.

Link to BaseCamp https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/software/basecamp/

It supports both Windows and Mac.
