Anyone any idea why, when I try to enter GPS coordinates into my garmin camper 700, it"greys out" the last couple of digits, thus stopping me from putting the whole reference in?

Are you selecting the correct entry method, select coordinates for input as opposed to address or anything else. You should go in to settings and select the correct coordinate entry type for what you are trying to enter.

Hi @john lillie

if on my Garmin 660 Camper i Tap "Where to" then Tap "Coordinates" I see some sample coordinates. These are the Coordinates for my current position.

When I Tap in the first box it then lets me type in the coordinate I want but will not accept any more digits or show them greyed out.

What are you trying to enter and where.

More than toes wet now!
If you're using Decimal Degree format (with prefix) will only accept up to 5 decimal points, eg N12.34567 W12.34567.

just tried mine again (it's a 770 if that matters), put sample coordinates in and it accepted all 6 digits after main number! Last year in France, it wouldn't let me put last one or two digits (minutes and seconds) and as a result we ended up in a field in the middle of nowhere! some numbers were greyed out after inputting first four, will just keep trying and see what happens, thanks for advice/interest.

The spanner symbol should allow you to change the coordinate format.

@john lillie On my 770 LTM-D you select categories then scroll to bottom where coordinates appear select that and input your coordinates in the format you have selected.(y)

All of this is part of the anti UK plot. The EU seems to think that we won't notice that the default settings for type of co-ordinates is not the Imperial standard degrees, minutes and seconds.

when you have scrolled down categories to coordinates click on the spanner in the top left, then click on the coordinate, you will then get about three format options
