It's October after all and it seems despite France being the dream for camping cars, we hope the UK could be, campsites have a massive closure at the end of September.
Those that stay open longer are in partial shutdown. Bars closed. Cafe closed. Indoor pools closed.
So once again it's back to using aires. And that's not a bad thing.
The ChatGPT route isn't foolproof however.
Asking it to plan a route from Eurotunnel Coquelles to Moux via St Etienne for a 6m campervan with set departure/arrival dates and times seemed no problem. Plus overnight dog friendly stopover In fact it took about 30 seconds.
Oddly, it created a route that had some doglegs and backtracks, sometimes as much as 100 miles!! It does allow you to question thst and it retries
In the end I have scrapped that idea and now working in out myself. Two nights to St Etienne area by lunch. Away after and a third overnight allowing a shorter drive on day 4 for Moux.
