MoHo since 2017, previous tugger
Evening all,

We’re about to get our first MoHo with a garage, so no more leaving bikes exposed on the rack.

Somewhat perversely however, I’ve got doubts about the integrity of the garage door locks - so wondering what additional security to consider in order to improve it?

Cheers,

Ian.

Think you must fit something, as a deterrent to keep the thieves away.

Lady tugger on the pitch next to me, has an under sofa locker, same as on my van. Big dent in the side wall where the thieves forced entry with a crowbar. Ended up stealing the leisure battery, but the damage was terrible. They used large cutters and just sliced through the wiring.

All happened in Ireland on their trip, so not on the site, thank goodness. Going to review my security as well, as it’s always worth a revisit.

Don't worry about the doors they are never going stop them. Secure the bikes inside the garage best you can. Alarmed cables and chain's?

Don’t worry too much if someone wants to break into your house they will do so easily, whatever you fit won’t stop a crowbar.
Do you worry someone is going to break into your house when you’re not home?

It’s only a bit of metal and not the most important thing in the world.

Speak with eddievanbitz regarding their alarms etc.

Vanalarm might work(motion sensor stuck to inside of door).

And mine !
Maybe better to fit an alarm to the door and secure them inside the garage in the hope that when said scum have the door open their time may be limited with the alarm going off and another lock on the inside may just put them off !
I wish I had a decent garage, mine is the size and shape of a coffin stood on end, great for smuggling immigrants crap for bikes :giggle:

I had Fiammia external lock fitted on our previous van, even had them sprayed silver to match the van. Took them off when we sold it with the intention of fitting to the new van but as of yet haven't got around to it. To be perfectly honest, not sure if I'll bother, like others have said, it makes it look as though there's something of value inside which might attract the opportunist tea leaf.

IMHO get Vanbitz alarm fitted and make sure you get the ‘Growler’ upgrade to deafen anyone trying to access your van garage etc. No one woukd be able to stay inside the van for more than a couple of seconds before their eardrums burst 👏👏👏👏😜😜
