This funny looking bulb is one of my reversing lights which has blown now. What is it and can I replace with a normal reversing light bulb or does it have a special fitment.

Looks like a G9 bulb, presuming it comes out of the metal holder OK it should be an easy swap

Link for reference not a recommendation. 👍

Hi Mike

You will have to get the correct bulb. They are very easy to fit. Just slide out of the holder and slide the new you in.
I have put a link below to give you an idea of what bulb you need. They are on Amazon.

Best of luck
Billy

So what’s the funny holder type thing. The other side is normal.

Is it a reversing bleeper and the bleeper part broke a while ago?

Do not touch the glass with bare fingers as you will leave oils that will blacken the bulb. A tissue to handle them is good enough.

I thought the bulb was going to tell a joke

I have never heard it bleep but then I am sat nine metres away from it. But it is strange how many peaple run out the way when I am reversing🫣. 😂

Does the black thing behind the bulb twist like a bayonet?
Don’t know yet. Have not tried to take it out. But I was thinking maybe the whole thing comes out and I could just put a bulb in. Maybe the black bit is a bleeper.

Its a regular capless W5W bulb.
On the end on one side is a loop of wire and the same diagonally opposite.

Don't think it will be 5w in a reversing light also filament looks to heavy more likely to be 18 or even 21w
Youd be surprised.
I just changed the rev light bulbs in my car for LED.... original was 5w capless.

Even if they are 21w its not a problem
