Just received my fuel filter tool and immediately changed fuel filter on my Peugeot Boxer 2010 - piece of cake!!!

Thanks to this forum I researched and found necessary tool on Ebay (£16.45) wasn't absolutely sure I was ordering the right one but I did :). If it helps anyone else, the tool is a Laser 5843.

Chuffed,

Rob

Got mine about 10 days ago ( after I had dumped about a gallon of fuel !! LOL !!)

Excuse my ignorance / stupid question , but would that tool be any good on a Fiat Ducato ? My MH is smoking heavily since a recent service and we wondered if replacing the fuel filter would help. Ps anyone able to tell me where in the engine bay it is and what it looks like ?

It is a big black cylinder affair usually on the fire wall on the right as you look in the bay..
But it really depends on what year your vehicle is ..
These are for models from about 2004 on ( at least, they fit the 2006 ones and the later x series from 2007 on )

Ours is a 2009 Fiat X series and we have the tool for ours after a serious diesel dump on a caravan site  nightmare !

If you don't know what it looks like or where it is , I would seriously think about having someone do it that does know, loads of trouble.

Might be worth trying some 'Diesel Magic' - it gets quite a lot of good reviews, just add it to an empty tank and fill up.

If its smoking after a service, I would check the oil level, they are easily over filled.
