French bed replacement orthopaedic mattress? (1 Viewer)

We have an orthopaedic mattress at home and want a similar ortho mattress for the van but it's a French bed. Has anyone done this, either custom or hacked?

I've read elsewhere on here of someone successfully hacking a mattress.

We have bought IKEA foam mattress and cut to size, we like a firm bed, so have also added supports to existing french bed as we tended to roll into middle.

IKEA might not give the support you need, but plenty of companies online that will cut memory foam to suit your needs

When I said I had read elsewhere it was your IKEA hack I was thinking of, so thanks! What are your added "supports"?

Extra slates that go from frame edge to edge and sits over the split / hinged part. Means I can't access the garage from inside, but gives more comfort / support
