The best way to stop locks freezing is to spray dry graphite in to the lock this dispels the moisture and helps prevent freezing I use this in my business which is motor vehicle service and repairs for over 37 years this Products is available from most places like halfords or motor bike shops they might call it chain lube or the one I use is from a company called Wurth it works well on door seals as well to stop them freezing shut
