I just thought the site would know more updates……

15th January we should get an update. Macron and his office are saying that the French people should support the Ski industry and get onto the slopes
PARIS, Dec 18 (Reuters) - France will compensate ski resorts hit by the ban on British tourists and will try to steer more French tourists to the mountains to make up for lost earnings, the tourism minister said on Saturday.

Under new rules taking effect on Saturday, meant to protect from importing the Omicron COVID-19 variant, holiday travel from Britain is not allowed and only French nationals and their partners, as well as foreigners with a permanent residence in France, can enter the country from the UK.

Thanks for the update , raring to go 🚐😎👍

French Connexion is advising that the next meeting of their 'committee' is likely to result in the ban being lifted THOUGH no date has yet been set !!

My wife has just booked the same apartment in the French Alps for next Christmas as the one we had in 2018.

£400 cheaper for the week this year(y)

I suspect prices will rocket up when restrictions are lifted.

I've got the Tunnel booked for a week Sunday. Theoreetically I could wave the Carte de séjour and get in anyway but there's a small matter of the Dépistage Formulaire and déclaration sur l’honneur and the Augusta is on UK plates. So rather not enter into too much discussion at the check-in booth. So let's hope Emauel let's us all in sometime soon.

Oh boy that is can of worms but if your main residence is France then you should have no problems .

French Border Closure

Latest 10/1/21: We are hearing from various French political and civil service sources who are expecting the ban to be lifted in time for 16th January departures. We are expecting an announcement on Wednesday and we are gearing up for these holidays to go ahead but of course it is impossible to know for sure.

From today

British skiers could soon be able to return to French slopes after an announcement that France is due to lift its blanket ban on non-essential travel from the UK.
The French government’s official spokesman, Gabriel Attal, said after a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday that Paris would ease travel restrictions from the UK to France in the next few days.
“I confirm that a further easing of the restrictions with the UK will be announced in the coming days,” Gabriel Attal told reporters. “Work is continuing. I hope that the announcement can be made by the end of the week.”

I have been skiing all over Europe, never in the French alps, only the Pyrenees.

But I would probably avoid it from now on. Plenty of other countries in alpine region with better resorts.
With respect - If you’ve never been to the french alps, how would you know?

(Not saying you’re wrong by the way)
