If you are planing to park in Folkestone be wary of the ANPR car park on the sea front - £20 for 1hr 30m - On contacting the company they informed me that it was my own fault for not reading the sign that says £20 minimum charge for vehicles over 2.2m

Then every car should be charged that, the smallest car I could think of, the BMW Mini is 3.82m long, unless I missread and that's a width of 2.2m?

Do you mean the car park on the Harbour Arm? I thought it was for 24 hours.

Yes very limited parking around the seafront area, the leas (Grand and Metropole area )has been a place in the past but just seen some road traffic orders restricting parking between 8.00----to ----6.00pm. Flat walk into town centre.

The East cliff area is possible all day and overlooks the harbour,, lovely coastal views, but road is inclined, possible to walk into harbour and town area.

Drop down to Sandgate road side parking no restrictions alongside sea wall. Towards Hythe on coastal road parking meters along princess parade. Day parking further along in West parade from Hythe bay and Grill to the Lazy Lobster Fresh fish shop. but NO OVERNIGHT local councilor made objection as it damaged his view from home, (the official view was dumped waste he produced photos at a meeting) sorry gone off track.
You can park both sides of the canal besides Sainsburys this is road parking no restrictions easy walk to Hythe town

The light Railway station at Hythe or New Romney have offered overnight stays in the car parks subject to making a train booking. A bit different at the Dungeness station as the Railway do not own the land, owned by power station i think.

Think a pay if tall is a better idea than height barriers. At least that gives a choice.
