Hi we’re on our first major run out with our 2008 Auto sleeper. We were woken during the night by a loud alarm and blue flashing lights on the control panel. We realise there is an alarm on the panel which I tried setting this morning to see if it made the same noise and flashed, but it didn’t. Does anyone know what else this might be? ( Battery readings both fine). Thanks Susan

Our friend, Nutrocker Pat has an Autosleeper of similar age. Their alarm was going off in night because it thought that the waste tank was full !

If only that was the reason! I’m now probably going to have a sleepless night waiting for it to happen again!

Sorry to hear of your problems ☹️ As Riverbank Annie has said, we did have the ‘low fresh water’ alarm sounding at various times accompanied be the control panel colour turning red. We have a 2008 Autosleeper too which turned out to be almost unusable at first because of, what turned out to be, a problem with the control panel.

Our problems were eventually resolved by a very helpful lady at a company called MES Ltd in Warwick who made and supplied these panels to Autosleeper. The lady in question is called Julie and the telephone number is: 01926 499756. She may not have the precise answer to your problem but she is knowledgeable (or someone in the company is!) about these panels.

Best of luck

Sorry. I meant to add that if you mention Pat from Bristol, I feel sure that she’ll remember me!!! We had many conversations.

Thank you so much, that’s extremely helpful. If it goes off again we’ll contact Julie. Thanks again ?

You say both battery readings are fine.

Some people have the misconception that because it's a 12 volt system that a reading of 12 volts is fine.

Many control systems shut down when the voltage drops below 12 volts. A fully charged battery should show a voltage of at least 12.6 volts. A 50% discharged battery will be about 12.2 volts, which is the minimum recommended.

Perhaps your habitation battery isn't holding it's charge and the cooler temperatures at night are in some way contributing to the alarm being triggered. If you are plugged into mains electric AND the mains charger is enabled, then the hab battery should show a reading of at least 13.4 volts.

It's always good to have a multimeter (volt meter) with you and know how to use it.

Thanks. I’m not sure we understand all of this the control panel says the leisure battery is 13,6v and we are plugged into mains.

Perhaps the MH is not happy the way it is parked. You could try turning it round the other way ;)

Thanks. I’m not sure we understand all of this the control panel says the leisure battery is 13,6v and we are plugged into mains.

That's good if your control panel is showing 13.6v when on mains. At least we can now discount a low battery voltage triggering the alarm. It also proves that your mains charger is active and working as it should.

When not on mains (or not being charged by the alternator with engine running) your hab battery will adopt a resting voltage of between 12.6v to 13.0v in the fully charged state, depending on type of battery.

Hope you get it sorted and a restful nights sleep. Looks like you've had good advice from previous posts.
