Basically I wanted to treat myself to one of these for a while and I know the wife is going to love this, so brownie points for me!

So, it's arrived today, instructions are a bit crap frankly and my first hurdle is how to find a 12v feed for the damn thing.
It needs to be installed near the boiler under the seat so looking at this photo I can see that the blue and white wires to the boiler are the 12v feed to it so Im wondering if it's feasable to piggy back onto these? There seems to be no other obvious 12v feed in this section.

Hi, fitted mine behind the CP Plus control unit, which is mounted over the hab door on a box section.
Just a matter of piggy backing off the 12v feed to the CP control ( fitted an in line fuse) unplugging the data cable and plugging that into the Inet box and fitting the supplied data cable between the Inet and the CP control unit.

irnbru and Guyadria I've seen both of you have the system and had it fitted, just wondered which sim / provider you have used for the sms part?

Sorry I cant help you with the programming but YES your wife is going to love it. I have smarty in one. If you want a link for subscribe a friend we both get a month free. Whats also good about it...doesnt really benefit me but if you have plugged it into EHU and its removed it alerts you. Handy for folk that dont have alarms.

Oh ok, i'll have a look, not sure how easily accessable that is on mine.

Nothing better than being in the pub or in bed and setting heating to come on (y)

I fitted mine the same with power off the CP. I ran the digital cable with an extension to the INET box and the onto the boiler. I confirmed this with Truma even though not in the instruction manual. They actually said this was their preferred route now. Then I use a Giffgaff pay go SIM. The Inet is brilliant, well worth the effort. Guy

Cable Not sure if link works. it is an RJ12 cable

Just had a look and definitly not enough room to mount the box near there as the other control panel for the lights / pump etc etc are there. I did some other wiring hiding in the cupboard next to it though so (once I get a 9v battery for the multimeter) I'll explore further.

Yes its a brilliant system, especially when I can alter the controls for mum from another nearby van.(y)

If you’re in the pub it’s Cheaper to send the other half back to the van to put the heater on plus you don’t have to buy them another drink, saving all round
Oh you are mean but I love it!:h:

I must be doing something wrong, managed to get the 12v feed sorted, connected the cable to the boiler from the inet box, bluetooth connects but doesn't find the combi :-/

May not be related but I could not get mine to work after fitted at dealers. They had it working before it left them spent ages on phone to very helpful Truma lady. In the end it was just that I hadn’t updated my iPhone, it needed the latest version. Downloaded most up to date version on phone and bingo. Found the boiler. As I said May not be anything to do with this but it sorted mine out.

And then is the Inet box connected to the CP Panel?

Ignore the Aventa aircon in this diagram and wire data cables accordingly, hence in an earlier post I highlighted the need for the extra cable along with the INet box. Guy

I think this is my problem, I don't think I had my head round the cable as there is a cable already included so what Ive done is essentially connected that cable to the combi and nothing else.

So, where does the cable that comes from the CP go before fitting the inet box? Does that go to the combi?
If so, can I unplug the CP to Combi cable at the combi end, plug it into the inet box in Tin1 then plug the cable that came with the inet box from the other Tin1 into the combi?

In my head that logic works but.....

It's late. I think so. Essentially the data cable acts like a mini LAN and "Tin1" needs to be connected to both combi and CP so that they can all talk to each other. In my case the combi is then also connected to the Aircon hence both CP panel and Inet can control both. Hope that helps.

Done it, unplugged the lead from the combi and put it in the box then another lead back to the combi and its working yay!

Now I just have to suss out the best deal on a data sim that's not gonna cost a fortune per month :-/

Data not needed for iNet box to work remotely as communication to/from it is via standard text msg. I have a PAYG Giffgaff sim in mine (as recommended by many other folks on here) and it works great.

I put £10 credit on the sim which I believe will not expire for at least 3 months. Each text sent by the iNet (in reply to text status requests to it from the Truma app) costs 10p.

I’ve got a £5 Asda PAYG sim, as you don’t have to use it every 6 months to keep it active. It’s just once less thing to remember, & I think the £5 will last quite a while, because it’s the Bluetooth we use when we are actually in the van. Make sure you use the sim as it comes, & don’t make it smaller, even though the instructions say a mini sim - I couldn’t get one out when I did that!

Im trying to see where the asda one states abotu using it every 6 months?
Found this https://mobile.asda.com/order-sim is it the £5 one here? or is that £5 a month? Its not very clear to me.

Paul. Try https://rwgmobile.wales/rates/
Choose the free SIM card and they will send one out to you. When you get it email them to activate and you have 50 mins or 50 sms plus 250mb data free every month.
Working a treat in mine. It does take a week or 2!!! For the sim card to arrive.

What network is your mobile phone with? Im with giffgaff and I use a giffgaff sim in the net box. I top up £6 every 3 months.

currently with smarty but waiting for new phone and will be EE

I just ordered a free sim & then topped it up with £5.

We have a spare Echo Dot and the new van will have iNet. Will it be possible to send instructions by Alexa anyone know?

Simple answer is no. The Inet Box operates via Bluetooth or SMS message from your phone. It does not do Wifi. Guy

£5+/- for a SIM just to be able to turn the heating on from the other end of the field/bus stop. Nah. I'd still have to get out of bed in the morning to get my phone to turn it on anyway. Might as well just use the panel.
